Hey! Is there any way that I could combine two textures to become one. For example, taking a rhen var texture, and adding on a yavin detail texture to it?

Yes. Take one texture, add an alpha channel to it. Then take the erase tool, and set it to 50% opacity. Then hold down the button and erase the entire texture. Then copy the texture onto the other texture you want. If you want, I could write a tutorial with images later. I can't right now, time for my thanksgiving dinner since we didn't get to do it yesterday.

In GIMP, open up your Rhen Var texture. Then you want to open up your Yavin detail texture, hit Ctrl+A to select all of its contents, then Ctrl+C to copy it. Now, in your Rhen Var texture, press Ctrl+V to paste it, and in the layers menu you will see a new layer; right-click it and select "Create New Layer". Adjust this new layer's opacity to increase or decrease how much of the detail texture you want to show.
EDIT:

Experiment with layer blending options like overlay, multiply, hard light, soft light and the like if copy pasting with a low opacity doesn't give you the results you want.
