On my ZE all my objects are gray and some are missing. They come up just fine in game. Has anybody had this problem and if you did, how do I fix it? :|

thanks

You need to move your msh msh files of the objects you are using to your Data_ABC folder. So if you put choochootrain.odf into Data_ABC from the assets folder and placed the object, you also need to go back to the msh folder and get everything that is relating to choochootrain.odf. Be careful because they don't always have the same names. :|

PS: Nice avatar :P

Sorry but I forgot to say I did that and checked 3 times again

Check 4 times

Some objects are more complicated than others. Do something simple like geo_bldg_stonespire_1 from the geo assests odf and copy that to Data_ABC and then go geo assests msh and copy everything that is related to the word geo_bldg_stonespire_1 and copy it to Data_ABC. All of the files you want might not necessarily be togehter. :?

Out of curiosity, what is your graphics card? The problem might be there...

Some objects use ground textures. (found in the world1 and/ or world2 folder) It would be a good idea to put those in your map's world1 folder.

Trainmaster, there isnt a problem with the msh files, he says they show up in-game which is very strange, there is most-likely a problem with zeroeditor. Or, like crazytieguy said, there could be a problem with your graphic card. Try Right clicking your desktop and go to settings and make sure that the color settings are set to 32 bit.

OFF-TOPIC: WOOT 100th POST!!

I don't think it matters EGGGUTS I have that problem with grass props and arches.. but it looks fine in game... is it doing any harm to your map? If not u should be fine  ( i think it has to do something with the texture being very complex)

(wait, what object has this problem?)

Well it sorta is doing harm cuz pretty much all objects are like that except a
few and It makes it hard to place stuff...........and ever since this started when ever I place something it turns up gray in the map :?

well, trainmaster.. that wasn't the case with me... if i didn't have the msh files for the prop... it wouldn't even show up in the ZE. :|

It would show up in ZE but only as a grey object. Hold on a sec...I think you are right. The problem was that I only had the TGA files from the msh in there but you have to acquire all the msh files and put them together. If its just ODF and TGA then it comes out grey.

omg...still, if it shows up in-game it means that the msh files are all there, there is only a problem with zeroeditor.

MSH files define the actual model - vertex coordinates, UV coordinates, render flags, and so on.
TGA files are texture files.
--Both of these go in the MSH folder, along with any associated option files (msh.option; tga.option)

ODF files are object definition files. They contain a wide variety of data that is interpereted by the engine.
--These go in the (conveniently labeled) ODF folder.

--All three types of files are required for your map to work properly, both in ZE and in-game.
--If you place an ODF file WITHOUT the corresponding MSH file, the object will not appear in-game or in ZE.
--If you place an ODF file WITH the corresponding MSH file, but WITHOUT the referenced TGA files, the object will be beige in ZE, and black/white in-game.

Did you know you can go up and down in ZE with F and V? That will help you a lot! Also, those vehicles aren't operable, you have to add them with the vehicle spawn odf unless they were really intended to be props :?

@on to you [main] problem, if you managed to get the textures for the vehicles and not regular objects then its not a msh problem. Its just really weird :? I don't know much about this so all I can suggest is that you try moving up and down with your camera view and see if it makes a difference. :|

It's odd I'll say that and those vehicles are meant to be props

but I want to fix it so I'll try your suggestion
