Mystery Problem

Ugh. Why is it that every time I make a map some random problem occurs?

I'm getting that crap in my MungeLog and I haven't done anything to the conquest or CTF files. To make matters worse I don't know what the heck it's talking about. Whenever I load up the map all my CP's are gone and I can't spawn.

Plus it says there is something wrong with my REQ. For the first few times I munged my map I had no problems whatsoever with the REQ or the conquest and CTF files and I haven't made any changes to them since so why is this happening? I made a whole new mod folder just to get rid of this problem but it's still here.

Anyone know how to help? Please and thank you.

Try re-munging your common. That solved some of my bracket problems even though I had never touched my LUA. :? Maybe it will work for you.

Time for a 'manual clean'. Go through and empty ALL files under data_123/_BUILD_PC/Worlds/123/munged/pc. Next delete 123.lvl found in /data_123/_BUILD_PC/Worlds/123/ as well as data_123/_LVL_PC/123

That would work... :D

Tean', that didn't work. :(

Vyse, I've re-munged it without cleaning and it got rid of some of the errors. Now it's narrowed down to this:
ERROR[levelpack POJ.req]:Unexpected end of file while searching for closing bracket.
File : munged\pc\poj.config.req(14)...

I'll re-munge it again to see if it continues to eliminate errors.

There's my REQ. The map still isn't fixed... :( I can't spawn and no CP's show up on the mini-map.

That's a layer error. It can't find the gametype you specified. I'd help ya, but my wife and I are watching my parent's house all weekend. If you still have trouble on Monday, catch me on MSN.

Oh, and BTW. Methlyn is in-game (SWBF2 obviously) and looks just awesome. So Desann, would you like Ep2 clones or Ep3 clones on Methlyn -- since it's your map and all.

Episode II clones please. I'll PM you the specifics.

I just got this same problem recently. I noticed something in the debugger:

Message Severity: 2
.\Source\LuaCallbacks_Mission.cpp(3776)
Command Post "cp1" not found

Message Severity: 3
.\Source\LuaHelper.cpp(312)
CallProc failed: (none):0: attempt to perform arithmetic on a nil value
stack traceback:
(none): in function `AddCommandPost'
(none): in function `ScriptPostLoad'

I've looked over everything and cp1 is there in zeroeditor, but not ingame. I haven't messed with the lua either, so i'm not sure how this problem came along. Hopefully this helps to get this problem fixed.

That happened to me with Methlyn. Sucks cuz that's all I need to release it. Ah well, I'll figure it out eventually.

Well, i ran some tests and i think i can confirm that it has nothing to do with with the layers. I tested by replacing all of the conquest and 1ctf with newly created files from another project.

EDIT: Problem fixed, Just copy your .wld file and anything else valuable to the level to desktop. Delete your old level. Remake the level. Then just copy everything back into place.

Munge problems then I'd suppose. I'll probably do a manual clean and see if I can fix it. If not I'll just do what you did.

I'm certain I'd already tried that but I'll do it again.
