How do you make a simple animated prop?

Is there any really detailed tutorial about how to make animated props, if there isnt can somebody make one? thx in advance

I meant like making one in XSI like a door, fan etc...

there is also a tutorial on how to make an animated door in the xsitutorialsthread. doors are a special kind of animated props because they have no idleanimation and the anim is played reversedly when the unit is leaving the activationregion. therefore you make animated props exactly like animated doors in xsi. if you dont know how to set up the odf take a look at jabba odf.
