Announcing : THE BATTLE OVER MON CALAMARI

A space battle set above Mon Calamari is the setting for my next map.
Yes, Its a space battle.
It is set in the Galactic era and isnt your run of the mill capture the command post or even a TDM ... its a Defend / Attack map.
Here is some info-
The Rebelions main warfare production planet is under attack from the ruthless empire . However , orbiting the planet is a space station which the Imperials need to destroy before they can advance to the suface ( L5R's map maybe?

) to destroy the starship production line.
The rebelion have to defend this position and can destroy some of the enemies portable hangar ships (basically flying hangars) ..as can the imperials.
The Main 2 spawn points are a a Star Destroywer Hangar and a Mon Calamari Hangar. each will have a computer workstation that can allow you to man turrets stationed around the ships hull without leaving the hangar itself.
here is an early look at the Mon Calamari Hangar .
Bear in mind it is my 1st test of this particular Hangar ...it does need increasing in size aswell as some structural changes.
*** dont worry this wont affect the release date of the Invisible Hand beta map *** so please dont talk about IH in this thread . Thanks
PS: Just remember that black texture means theres been no texture added yet.

silly ....bf2 doesnt have Bwings or Tie Defenders ......well not until i port mine over
Much more detail to come .
Il hopefully post a new screenshot every day or 2 . Since its a space map it shouldnt be such a long winded affair (touch wood) as IH (Diet Dr. Pepper all those corridors

)

Nice work! B-Wings are gonna be awesome! How does the whole destroyable hangar thing work though? It sounds wicked awesome, but I didn't know something like that was possible for Battlefront. Is it a structure like the one shown in the pic that can be destroyed, or something else? And one more questions: do the hangar ships move around?

The hangar you see isnt destroyable since its part of the main calamari cap ship ... but youl see what i mean about destroying the portable hangars when you see them.
You can make anything destroyable ..its just in the odf.
I would love to make the main cap ships move as you are in them but the collision doesnt account for spawn points and vehicle spawn points .... theyd get left behind.
Also youd eventrually go off the map

Actually, bandu, you could make the ship into a protable command post, but the stupid bf physics engine would end up making you fall through the floor and 'die'(think:standing on a gunship that lifts off)

Y bad collision . However Iv heard that in bf2 you can just stand on a vehicle and youl be along for the ride .

That would be great, and would create infinite possiblities for modding(assuming we can retain bf1 mod ffuntionality-gl Nim)

man, that would be soooooooo cool, standing on top of a starfighter as it zoomed through space into enemy fire. THAT WOULD BE SUCH A COOL MULTIPLYER TACTIC. okay inagine this.
A starfighter zooms past a hanger, and all of a sudden something leeps of it right in front of you and starts blasting. THAT WOULD BE THE COLLOEST THING EVER. well, mabey

lol... it would be cool to have like 3 ARC troopers riding on top of an ARC-170 shooting there missles at enemy starfighters..

Until one fell off, got hit by an enemy starfighter, and then got his eye poked out. Its all fun and games till the dumb clone gets his eye poked out......
But im guessing there isn't a way in the SWBF I Odf's to make the ships like in SWBFII where when u land they turn in to Spawnable CP's?

That would be really cool, no need for transport ships, just jump on someone else's starfighter. Although it was a nice way stop enemy ships from launching by jumping on them.
