Explaining it can be confusing, yes. You're right, it's best to just go play them and see how they work. Not all maps have both (I think it's one or the other), but since we can it'll be cool to make our maps have all modes.

FYI - someone (a TAW member) released yavin 4's temple on the lucas forums. I've yet to check it out, but maybe they've figured out some of the issues you're having. Might be a good resource.

Hello everyone,

I want to explain that I did not know there was another person working on this MAP. I wanted to play it in SWBF2, and I wanted Hero mode so I made it. It took a little while to get the vehicles fixed and the layers reconfigured from the original, but it came out nice.

I made it for the TAW guys I play with, they apparently posted it on LucasArts, I added the link to Gametoast this morning becuase of the positive feedback not knowing that this thread was here.

If anyone wants to colaborate on this stuff feel free to contact me. I was not trying to take anything over with the release.

FYI - lower detail emliminates the black ground on most of the MOD maps I have seen. Including mine.

Updates:

*2-Flag CTF is now working properly
*Asajj Ventress (model by Neomarz1, conversion my minilogoguy18, odf work by me) is in, and looks GREAT
*XL mode is in for both eras now
*1-Flag CTF is now done, though I'll probably tweak it again

And here's my current worklog for Yavin:

Yavin 4: Arena

Global
-Vehicle setup
-Birds
-Add another class to each era/side
-'Water pads'
-Check sound regions/spaces
-GCW Heroes -- ALL=Jedi Luke and IMP=Grand Admiral Thrawn (new, plays like Han Solo)

Conquest
-Temple CP is in the air?

1-Flag CTF --DONE

2-Flag CTF --DONE

Hero Assault
-Change up a few heroes
-Add Asajj Ventress --DONE
-Add Kit Fisto "Dummy"
-----So I can add them in easily later
-Add a Chiss Jedi
-Remove turrets/vehicles

XL Mode --DONE
-Fix GCW crash --DONE

Teancum, you've precised that a "dummy" Kit Fisto mesh might be used in upcoming releases of your "Yavin IV : Arena" level... Might I know on which existing Star Wars Battlefront II or Star Wars : Jedi Knight model it will be based on ?... :|

Actually, the dummy Kit Fisto is just a regular Jedi from the JED side, set up so that when/if I ever get the Kit Fisto mesh, I can literally just drop the model in and be good to go. Sorry for the confusion.

However, might I suggest porting this Star Wars Jedi Knight II : Jedi Outcast model into Star Wars Battlefront II, as for NeoMarz "Asajj Ventress" playable character?...

Good suggestion! She's already in, and it's Neomarz's model. I'm not as fond of the Jedi Outcast Kit Fisto model, and would like the BF2 version, but if we never get it from XBox, we'll do Toonces' JO Kit Fisto.

Just FYI for all -- even if Pandemic releases Asajj Ventress, I'm keeping this one in Yavin because the model doesn't suck, and neither does the weapon. (What were they thinking? Lightsaber nunchucks???)

I added a light in the center of the map, and called it sun... then I just adjusted teh light as needed, then clicked 'image' -> 'burn terrain' to fix the terrain problems
