--CLONE WARS: LANDING AT POINT RAIN—
It’s been about a month since I announced that I would be making a replica of this episode. I’ve finally done enough work to release a WIP thread. The map replicates, in as much detail as I could, the episode. The map is currently about 60% done (more details below). When completed the map will have a campaign and conquest mode along with 3 ambush teams for campaign, a local team, and the CIS and Republic with all units modified in some way. The storyline is classified until I release the map completely though I will say that the objectives will be fully voiced, and there is a distinct, exciting and long storyline.
Details:
-7 teams (Rep, CIS, locals, and 4 ambush teams)
-many animations (acclamators, gunships, dogfights, troop drops, exct)
-20 Objective storyline (currently at 7 )
-Fully voiced with custom soundtrack (working on it)
-Rock song as ambient music for one of the objectives
-Many new units for the Reps (incinerator, commando, ARF scout)
-New units for CIS (Droid commando, scaled SBD, geonosian engineer)
Progress
-map 60% done
-units 80% done
-script 30% for campaign 90% for conquest
-animations 20% done
-minutia (hintnodes, shadows, details, effects, exct) 60% done

Why didn't you just wait a few hours so this topic could follow the rules? :D
-And Rock song you say, - are you sure that works?

Couldn't you like, wait a couple of hours, before opening up a thread? We like to see pictures, I really don't get an idea of what you're map is like from a bit of text.

Unless it's epic ASCII art :D

But no, I agree, this thread doesn't really serve any purpose as yet. You really should've waited 'till you were able to post screens.

Adding pictures is also a requirement stated in the rules. Although in saying that, I think they give you three days (?) to correct your topic before it is locked.

But that seems more of a rule for when people are having difficulties uploading they're picture/when they go down suddenly and the author doesn't have the time to reupload them. Not for when you could just wait a couple of hours to open up a new topic when you new from the start there were going to be no pictures.

But it is nevertheless a rule. He obviously has the pictures; it would be pointless to lock the topic for just a few hours in my opinion. It seems pretty pointless to upload the map now - but it would be even more pointless to lock it for just a few hours. I guess if there are no screenshots by this afternoon there's no excuse. But I think we all get the point now

Yeah, I wasn't suggesting that this topic should be locked or anything
Just that some patience in making a topic was maybe in order

Also as a note to all of those who decided to rip me up for making you wait a few hours, sorry. I had written this up already on my laptop and figured I may as well post and then update in a few hours. Didn't think I would get much attention.

No offense to the person who made the skins but they seem a bit too light its more of a darkish brown kinda color

Edit: Skins Darth_Spiderpig have are about accurate to me

I made them. And I used the exact same colors as in a picture from the episode, so I don't think that the camo is off, if more people think it looks bad though I can darken it.
Hidden/Spoiler:
ImageImage The paint schemes look about the same to me

Wow, while it's hard to say judging from obli pictures, but the map design looks pretty nice, especially the whole linear downhill thing, using props for cliffs, and the long rock formation mazish thing. It looks pretty cool in my opinion.

Although there are some elementary things off. The canyon walls shouldn't be red. Make the wall texture the same as the ground texture, and add shadow.

Sink some of the props in to avoid the mismatched colors.

You forgot that on the reference picture theres alot of dust flying around. That skin deffinatly has to be darkened alot.

Those markings really are yellow. Your map looks quite nice, but you may want to use tatooine canyon objects instead of terrain to block of your map. (look in the bf1 assets for them)

I agree. Just make sure to skin them to look like the rest of the terrain.
