.combo Animation banks- just need some info

Can .combo animations be added to a non-melee weapon, say if I want to just use one particular animation as the fire anim for a weapon (like force push offhand uses)?

You can use the "AnimationBank =" tag to set what animations a weapon uses. You wouldn't use a combo for a regular weapon because it only has one animation; combos delegate multiple animations.
