Get KotF. And for reassurance before you D/L get Anti-Virus software. http://www.kotf.com/main.htm just go to downloads.
Cheers!

Some Anti Virus programs don't detect all spyware, adware, or viruses whereas others do. Its just a matter if you really want it, I've played JA+ and MBII and those are both great mods. If you want to take the chance than go ahead but there are a lot of mods for JKA and their all good in some way. Although it could just a rare detection. I download Knight Online (Free MMORPG) and it said while starting that there was a Trojan. So I went to the official forums and found a topic where other people had the same problem and it wasn't even a Trojan, it was just some mistake thing (forget how they put it) in some anti virus software. They sent messages out to all of the big anti virus companies telling them to remove their false positives. You can read it below, so it could be or not.
Hidden/Spoiler:
Hello Knight Online Community,

Many people are concerned about certain anti-virus programs detecting a Trojan Virus in the Knight Online executable that is packed in the latest patches from K2 Network. Our Quality Assurance department has installed these anti-virus programs, scanned the Knight Online files and determined these reports to be FALSE POSITIVES. We will be contacting the larger anti-virus companies to update their databases to remove these false positives. Rest assured that the files that are distributed by K2 Network do not contain viruses or other harmful files. Thank you for your continued support of Knight Online!

-The Knight Online Team
Also you can read a short discussion about this same topic on the GameSpot forums here.

Nono -- it's full of 'stolen' goods, so to speak. The author took a lot of maps and models and whatnot without even so much as asking authors for permission. That must've changed at some point, because I looked at the credits now for the mod and it's really, really long. Maybe he wised up.

He didn't steal anything copyrighted. What he did was to take stuff that the community is and compile it all together without asking or crediting the authors. So it's more immoral on his part, not illegal. But like I said, I looked the credits and there were a lot of people thanked/credited, so he must have fixed all that.

Not trying to revive a dead topic or anything, but I think you should download the Dark Forces mod. It's essentially a remake of the first game in the Jedi Knight series. The current version up for download only has 6 of the original 14 levels, but a new mod team is trying to finish the project. If you like this mod, try browsing Lucas Forums for the latest info on this huge mod.

The remake is actually really faithful to the original, too. Too bad that even with someone picking it up it still won't ever be totally finished. (and you can quote me on that)
