Any good tutorials on vehicles?

How to create models in XSI and other 3D applications and make them work in Battlefront 1 & 2. Post models, tips for application usage and share anything XSI, 3DMax, SketchUp, etc.

Any good tutorials on vehicles?

Does anyone know of any good tutorials on how to make vehicles in XSI? I searched the forums, but to no avail. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Err... same way you make anything else? I'm assuming you mean unanimated vehicles. Only thing that's different is that you need to make sure you set up multiple hardpoints to set things like thrust, weapons, etc.

Yes, that is what I mean-like how to add the hardpoints and anything else required in making a vehicle. I meant (in my first post) if there were any tutorials on how to make a pilotable vehicle, becuase I think you need to add more that just hardpoints.

All you need to do is make your model. Then duplicate it twice, once for a collision (collision_-sov-modelname) and once for a lowrez (modelname_lowrez). Create a null and make it the parent of all your meshes (modelname, modelname_lowrez, and collision_-sov-modelname) and all your hardpoints. To make your hardpoints, you can use any primitive, but I use nulls cause they're easiest. Name your hardpoints whatever you want; I use easy ones to remember like hp_thrust or hp_weapon. Put a hardpoint wherever you need one. (To see where vehicles need hardpoints, study some .odfs.)
