I'm pretty lucky in TF2. The servers I frequent are a load of fun and there aren't many problems to go around. I guess that's what happens when you have a load of regulars and some funny micspams.

Ha, I remember I wanted to enter my clan into a tournament, and I ventured into the tourney site forums and brought my 1.0 clan knowledge into 1.1. It did not go over well.Twilight_Warrior wrote:What version do you play on? I know 1.0 is HEAVY with the clan war stuff. It's like drama central. But 1.1 is fairly laid back. It's dominated by a few big clans, with only a handful of smaller clans who actually spar with each other, but it's never "clan wars," just a friendly match between two clans. A "fun war," if you will.Dakota wrote:wow this thread is still alive well while it is here is my post
I have recently seen the star wars battlefront 2 community getting better. all the hackers are gone (mainly removed by me). the only problem now is the clan war thing it is like the cold war no one shoots but yet they have their finger right on the shiny red button. i can deal with a cold war but the hackers got annoying.
wow i just noticed that the only annoying thing that i have left in my life at all is my brother and i am not removing him

Well, I hate to break it to ya, but you're not going to do it alone.Dakota wrote:i play 1.1 i never saw 1.0 though but how long has it been since u played right now it is a cold war like setting...
edit: what you said reminded me of how the community was about a year ago. everyone nice and just some fun wars, mod tests, ffas, and just fun stuff to play. now all i do is try to get the community back the way it used to be. it will take awhile though

Have you ever played at a "pro" server? My guess would be no.Twilight_Warrior wrote:Unless you go really deep into the smaller "pro" clans (they call themselves pro to make them feel better about themselves), which is just asking for trouble.
Two years ago we had more than 5 times that. You can't deny that the community is at least close to being dead. Competition wise it's already dead. Player wise I would give it another year or so.Twilight_Warrior wrote:Compared to the 2000+ players that frequent the major servers like SWGO, Mercenary Gaming, or the public GMRZ servers.

Oh God what was his name...fasty wrote:Have you ever played at a "pro" server? My guess would be no.Twilight_Warrior wrote:Unless you go really deep into the smaller "pro" clans (they call themselves pro to make them feel better about themselves), which is just asking for trouble.
I'd give you proof, I was pressured to join ~V~ a few months ago because I gamed on their server for a bit, but I can't recall the guy's name. He said he was the leader, but I'm not sure he is anymore. Profile pic had a school bus behind him and he was wearing shades and a t-shirt. Anyway, ask around about {Delta}88_Scorch or ScorchRaserik. I've been on their servers, just not too often. No offense to you if you play with them, but alot of them are really full of themselves. My personal opinion is that if you're good at a game, you shouldn't shove it in everyone's face about it. Another one of those "respect among players" deals.
Competition-wise, I agree with you. But player-wise... there are still people playing SWBF, JKII, JKA, early COD games, (don't even get me started on Half Life) and all those games are older than SWBF2. I'm pretty sure the only way the SWBF2 online community is going to die completely is if GameSpy shuts down the servers.fasty wrote:Two years ago we had more than 5 times that. I know exactly who that is. My clans enemy. -.-Twilight_Warrior wrote:Profile pic had a school bus behind him and he was wearing shades and a t-shirt.
I hope you're right.Twilight_Warrior wrote:I'm pretty sure the only way the SWBF2 online community is going to die completely is if GameSpy shuts down the servers.

i am on the PC server side i barely ever go on dedicated also the "trolls" i deal with different i make sure they can do no harm and they get bored and leave most of the timeTwilight_Warrior wrote:Well, I hate to break it to ya, but you're not going to do it alone.Dakota wrote:i play 1.1 i never saw 1.0 though but how long has it been since u played right now it is a cold war like setting...

I'm not the most active member in the world, but I still get on. I used to be in {Delta}, [merc] for a bit, and now I'm roaming around with a small group called }GR{. I'm telling you, the community's the same. Unless you go really deep into the smaller "pro" clans (they call themselves pro to make them feel better about themselves), which is just asking for trouble. In which case, you might be right, THAT part of the community is in trouble, but that's MAAAAYYYYYBE 50-100 people. Max. Compared to the 2000+ players that frequent the major servers like SWGO, Mercenary Gaming, or the public GMRZ servers.Hidden/Spoiler:
(P.S. i go by (DC)Devastator or Dakota most of the time)

That depends on your "war" record overall.
