Yes, reskin is allowed, only keep the mesh intact please.
"aimer_head" is one null in the hierachy of the model,

My map do not crash, but the Tridroid is not there... i added the line in the lua

there is no "-keep aimer_head" entry in the msh.option, i reckon that makes vm ignore the aimer and therefore battlefront cant find it

I forget mention that it need the default cis_weap_hover_stap_cannon.odf and related files _ord and _exp.odf. not included in the .zip file.

You put the cis_walk_tridroid.anims, cis_walk_tridroid.ZAFBIN and cis_walk_tridroid.ZAABIN in your side/XXX/munged folder?
