Fire effects stretched (Solved)
Hey, I have been trying my luck with Particle Editor. I want to take the old flame that goes with Boba's flamethrower, and change it so that it goes longer. Is there a specific way to do that? I can change the size of the effect, but I can't seem to stretch it so that it goes more forward. Does anyone know a way to stretch the effect, so that it goes farther forward?
Thanks for your time.

If I'm reading your intentions right, you want to increase its range? Rather than stretching it, which may not look quite right, try this:
1) Click Spawner and in the Properties box, under "Direction Scale" increase the particles' velocity.
2) Then click on the main effect (should be named "fire") and decrease the burst delay to make the flames thicker.
That ought to make the effect reach farther without stretching the texture.

Re: Fire effects stretched
Yes, that's what I meant. Make it go farther. I'll try it right away, Thanks Fiodis!
Hmm, what effect does Boba's rifle use exactly? I opened com_sfx_weap_flamethrower_ord, and it looks like the flame, but it doesn't have an emmiter called "fire". Do I have the wrong effect?
EDIT, Okay, I got the effect to go farther, but now it seems to be magnetized to a certain direction. When I face one way, it heads the to right, when I turn right about 90 degrees, it heads to the left. When I am facing away for the magnetic point, it stops short, like it is trying to go backwards. Any suggestions to fix this? Thanks for your help.

What are you using it for?

I want to use it as a flamethrower effect. You know Boba's flamethrower? Well, what I want, is to make the effect longer, so that it goes farther than original effect. I made a model, (Flameshooter), and I want this longer flame effect to go with it.

Re: Fire effects stretched
Just swapping it in for Boba's effect should work. That polarization is a really odd problem that I've never heard of before.

Oh, man, I am such an idiot. I was changing the wrong thing, the x,y,z axis, and I was increasing the z axis. I got it to work, after double checking each step with what you said, and it worked. Thanks Fiodis!
