Eaol, you say that sound doesn't exist in space?,well,it's false,it has been proved that there is sound in space.

Possibly, but modern physics would like to say it cannot, and they have every reason to think so (none has been documented as far as I know). There is a medium, but it isn't like air. The particles in plasma are few and far between.
(And the medium that light waves travel through is not molecular.)

Don't get me wrong- there is some scientific credibility to your claim, but as far as I know it has not been "proven".

EDIT: Thinking of adding a sound effect for that rocket launcher? I'm thinking of the EAW plex sound effect, if you can replicate it.

I wanted to make the rebels shots yellow, but forgot. :runaway:

Currently, they have thermal det's, but idk what I want them to have. probably something else... the clone Sky trooper, too...

Whan using a jetpack, you wouldn't want to be using a grenade of any kind. Something you could more easily aim. But you still don't want it to throw you off balance - so no rocket launcher. Probably detpacks or something, or a recon droid. I really don't know.

Changed it to auto turrets for rep, all, imp. but i want to leave wrist rockets on the B2-RP.

and i think i'll change the weapon on the turret. just a little update, nothing major.

Just added a few sound effects from soundbible.com for the frag nade, thermal det, and mortar launcher explosions.

Does sound exist in space, I wouldnt wager a penny on it.

Are video games with sounds boring, yes.

Don't you mean without sounds? :P

Technically there can be sound in any place with matter and there is some matter even in interstellar space. Would you be able to hear anything inside an insulated suit/cockpit, no. But not hearing anything but maybe engine sounds would ruin the epicness. :D

 Grammar/spell fail. Bigtime. But yes,

lets not spew this into a rant. I know sound can exist in "space" but technically, what is space. How do we define it. I think I would define it as someplace without anything there, just space. So yes, in a nebulae, you prob have sound.

But this is Star Wars. Are we really going to draw the realism line at "sounds in a vacuum"? Because I can think of a lot more unrealistic things from the franchise.

@kinetos:
Why not give all the jet units wrist weapons as a secondary (darts, flamethrowers, etc, but a different one for each faction)? I mean, Boba and Jango used them with varying degrees of success.

as for sounds in space... there WILL be sounds in the mod, if your such a science geek that you must have sound be realistic, go into 3rd person and hit mute. Otherwise, take it to a realism in star wars thread, there was one when I joined, which soon got shut down, or abandoned, because SW is Sci-Fi/Fantasy. It doesn't have to be real, just epic.

@TW: I could do darts or flamethrowers i guess, but who gets which? I don't think poison darts would be effective vs droids, or possibly armored stormtroopers, so would the clones and rebels have to have flamethrowers and empire have poison darts? or maybe the clone could have a static dart (poison with electirc fx), empire have poison, and rebels have fire darts?

The canonical answer to this has been around for thirty years. http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Aural_sensor

So...what I described, kids, is an aural sensor :P

I already said that there is a way to detect "sounds" in space that could be interpreted. I was simply stating that if you crashed, your pilot would suddenly go deaf. Please don't abuse me like that. It doesn't look good.

As far as the thread, you wouldn't be surprised to know I probably started it. Anyway, modern astrophysics is very wrong on a fundamental level, and it isn't likely to change for a while. However, an "aural sensor" may be plausible. Even its terminology makes sense, coincidentally.

(Oops, used img tags instead of quotes. Fixed.)

Anyway, forgot to say it, but your rebel jet trooper looks amazing. Smart idea.

Yes, he certainly does. Let's get back on topic.

Your flying scout trooper looks like...uh...well, that's it. A flying scout trooper. Maybe color it a bit differently, give it a pauldron or something? A pauldron would be cool.

EDIT: Amazing gun. Did you make that?
