Ok, while i'm still grappling with the havoc troopers weapons, i have been able to get the storm commando ingame. The only problem is that I don't know how to localize him

i think you should take the vizor design from the havoc trooper and put it on the infiltrator's skin and then just coler in the vizor light blue. but anyway thats just my opinion. storm commando ROCKS.

New Weapon list for the havoc.
>Carbine - Finished, except for the hires geometry which doesn't seem to work
>Flame Spitter - Finished
>Thermal Detonators - Finished
>Suppresion Autoturret - In Production
Well, i tried working with a new grenade, tried both cryoban and poison. I've given up on cryoban for now, doesn't seem to work very well. Poison worked, but how exactly would you use a poison grenade against a droid? The Suppresion Autoturret(for lack of a better name), is basically the autoturret the sniper drops, but instead uses the clone commanders weapon.
Still progressing with the weapons, will update if i get a better idea. Still don't know how to localize, though i'm pretty sure i'll need to edit the CORE.lvl.

All you have to do is use the "EditLocalize" batch file in your ModID's folder...
Editing the unit's names and such is just the same as in BF1. It's pretty simple.

Sry, wasn't specific enough. I'm talking about localizing the units for the official maps, which I can't seem to get to work. Might as well ask this now, If there is anyone who knows how to localize the offical maps, or knew how to in swbf1, please post. I've had an incredibly hard time with the methods i've already tried.

Ah... the official maps... I see. For that, I can't help you. To tell you the truth, I'm not sure how you would do it. Though I do suppose it's possible... you might be able to edit the Core.lvl... not sure how it would work, but it'd be worth a shot... as long as you knew what you were doing; one mistake could prove fatal...
Good luck on that.

I believe there were a few people who could do it for swbf1. Really i need some sort of direction on how to approach the localization. I can see how to localize, i just don't know what to change. Example, say i find Dark Trooper in the core.lvl, even if i edit it, it probably won't change the unit, or localize a new one. Its almost as if i need to munge a new core.lvl. Since i don't know what actually went into the original core.lvl, i wouldn't get very far.

Ok, everything is almost in place. I've figured out how to localize them, so it will be a little longer before i can apply it to both units. Hopefully i'll have this finished soon.
EDIT: Ok... localization failed.

Well.. the units are done. I've made barely any progress with localizing, and i have little time to devote to finding a solution. Good news however, I've sent my storm commando to gametoast for testing. Havoc trooper will hopefully follow, as i have a bug or two to fix first.

!

Nice!!
I loved the origional maps for BF1 but these units look ten times better.
Personally, I think the visors are great, especially the infilitrator.
Will this be a new map or an import of the ones for BF1 (ice gate and frozen corridor) or new maps entirely? I thought frozen corridor was a ton of fun!
Nice. will you be releasing sides?

No new map, this will be a side replacement(jetpack troopers). I used the Add download option in the downloads area to upload the beta for the storm commando. No file yet though.
EDIT: Title says all, postponed due to lack of time and knowledge about localizing official maps. Will pick back up when time becomes more abundant.

Finally! This project can be resumed, and to kick off this continuation i've sent in the storm commando beta to swbffiles. Havoc trooper will follow soon. Note that they are still not localized, but hopefully this little act of publicity will help me get aid in localizing it.

Good job Astute! I hope soon these units will be used in many maps. Oh, and by the way, what program do you use to skin?

Question to anyone that knows, what goes into the full core.lvl. I'm trying to make my own as i can relocalize this unit ingame, however the core.lvl i get is just a couple megabytes short.

The Inflitrator sounds a lot like an ARC. An ARC Infiltrator would be awesome if you give him heavy repeater pistols.

I think what he's asking is if he will release the skin in .tga format, so that it maybe imported into other custom sides.
