The patch to 1.1 is probably what did it. I'm pretty sure 1.1 replaces ingame.lvl and shell.lvl, and you need the 1.0 ingame and shell for this to work.

However, you should be ok, the Conversion Pack (and the beta I just sent out) has the r61 update preinstalled - just install it and then everything should work from there on out (you should be able to install the Pack and then use his uninstall.bat to restore defaults - although you don't have to, obviously).

It patched all the files (main lvl files and sides) but in game everything was the same as before (that is the shell). I can't test the sides/Fake Console because when I play a map (even the shipped maps) it crashes right when it turns to the loading screen image and before you ask I did not have any other mods installed I did a fresh installation of SWBF2 with the Domestic Version of the Official V 1.1 Patch just before installing V 1.3. I backed up my sides and main lvl's just before trying this.

Like fluffy said, im sticking with revision 50 till the next revision after 61 once my problem is fixed ( exact same as Delta 47)

Oops, you're not supposed to. I will have to reinstall my game to get fresh file versions. I was able to get the new batch file working. You will no longer have to care about where you extracted the files or where you installed SWBF2.

All the -retail files are the ones I used to generate the patch files. You can download those, rename/install them, then try the patch installer again. Or you could just download the lvl files directly.

If your files were exactly the same as mine then the installation would have worked. It didn't install correctly, so our files are not exactly the same.

I have the same problem and I have the CD version of the game updated with the Domestic version of the 1.1 patch :?

I tried it with the retail versions and still no avail....this is sooooo odd....so i guess for now im stickin with R. 50 till a new revision that works.

Unless you just download the files before the patched version (still R 61) here.

@ Zerted, I installed the lvl's from the above link but the game crashes right when I launch the game (start up the main game).

Ah, so you're the guys slowing down my net connection. If you want you can post an error log. If people are still having problems with the next release, then I can make a version without the patching, but that download would be over 100MB (compared to 30MB).

Zerted, do you know if there's any sort of thing regarding a maximum number of DLC entries? Because I noticed that the latest Conversion Pack release + BFX will cause about half of BFX's addme entries and every other ADDON map to crash with a FATAL error.

The way to determine if there is a max number of AddDownloadableContent entires is to remove them a few at a time until everything starts working again.

Heres a little addme script I wrote to print out all the AddDownloadableContent() calls. Just install it like any other map, then start the game and check its output (you don't even need to select a profile). You will be able to see all of all of the maps' game mode/era configurations: http://zerted3.getmyip.com:8585/random/ ... Map_v1.zip (698 bytes)

I don't know if you can skip using AddDownloadableContent because of its memory parameter, but I do know you never need to use dc:. You can always put in the direct path. It starts at _LVL_PC so you would want to use ..\\..\\addon\\ to get in the addon folder.

* Warning: Sorry, the installer doesn't like spaces in the path name. If you have some spaces, don't waste your time downloading it.

Revision 69 (55MB) Here:
  • Added the missing game mode and era icons
  • Now using bsdiff instead of xdelta to generate the patch files
  • Documented changing a map's color
  • Added the ability to disable custom map colors
  • Added Jedi Hunt (jhu) and Weapon Conquest(wea) game modes
  • Changed to a menu based installation
  • Really included the custom sides this time
You will need to install the v1.3 patch if you already have it installed. I do not know if the latest v1.3 will install correctly if you just uninstall the 61 revision. Sadly, 61's patch files weren't generated off of pure files like I thought. However, I reinstalled the game and the v1.1 patch before making the 69 patch files. This time they are correct.

The installer has been changed into a menu. Extact the zip to any folder and run menu.bat.

I want to finish this up and release it this weekend. Nows your chance to request anything else or notice bugs. The main thing I haven't done yet is to allow you to remove the HUD. The next (and second to last) release will have that feature.
