Um... Ouch. I hate to say it, but those look pretty bad. Are you sure those are legitimate?

All I know is that we better be able to unlock them all at some point down the line. This is a practice I hope crashes and burns someday because it makes it impossible to have everything.

I agree with Fusion, this is just ridiculous. Eight different pre-order bonuses, and you can only pick one because they're all separate? That's just taking it too far.

I'm torn, actually. I think all of those bonuses look utterly ridiculous, but on the other hand I'm happy I'm not missing out on any worthwhile content.

That thing is supposed to be called Knight.
And by the way, most likely the voice at the end was The Didact.
What I am expecting:
I hope the story is good. It seems to me that this game now has resemblance to Halo: CE, with a ship crashing into a Forerunner planet, with the difference that John was already on the ground. The Promethean warriors stuff looks nice, i am hoping it requieres more tactical gameplay to beat them, not just run and shoot.
The new weapons have great animations when you pick it up, and the graphics look very good. I already saw the renders and they are excelent.
It will be nice to fight along other SPARTANs, but this time i hope they are not as dumb as the NOBLE Team AI from Reach.

If I remember correctly one of the lead team members came from Metroid Prime, so that explains all the Metroid Prime-esq HUD, enemies, .etc. On the other hand, I'm really pumped for Spartan Ops. I read somewhere that 343 plans to keep content going for years. I always enjoyed online co-op, now having different co-op each week would be pretty cool. Something I am wondering is if there are new maps every once and awhile, or is it just the same maps re-hashed with different objectives?

343 is made up of the more ambitious Bungie employees, ex-Retro employees from the Metroid Prime era, ex-Pandemic employees, and even some people who used to work on CoD. It's actually quite interesting, you can see little elements of those past games here and there.
No one knows about the Spartan Ops maps yet, but it's sounding like there will be required downloads for them, so who knows.
Oh, and did anyone else see the lava/magma? I really hope they have a Waterworks style map with lava instead. I remember seeing an old texture mod for Halo 2 that did that, it would look really great here.
Also, i saw blue prometheans on the E3 demo. Theory:
Red prometheans - Didact.
Blue Prometheans - Master Builder
Or just the same leader but much tougher than the red ones.
And the knight that seems to pwn John at the end of the gameplay demo is a lot different, maybe its some kind of major class or higher.

Off-topic: Heh, for a moment there I thought you had said "Prometheus".
The price for the Xbox is $400 and its outrageous in my opinion, i would never pay 400 for it, even if i like it...

If you're trying not to be spoiled on anything campaign, I will only say this. There are only two matchmaking achievements and they're both for winning a certain amount of games. No "Two for One" or "You Ate All the Chips" nonsense.
Also, numerous sample tracks were released as well as one full one if you preordered the CD. Seeing as it's all over Youtube already I might as well just post the full song. It helped me rewrite all of those achievements after all.
Oh, and despite the fact that Gravity hammers are on this game, there are no brutes.

Okay, the vanguard is the absolute worst Xbox-related idea I've ever seen, considering how easily the Xbox kills discs.

Okay, now I'm even more skeptical. None of the new helmets look Halo-esque. It's like someone ripped helmets from every sci-fi armor and thought they'd work here. I wouldn't be surprised if there's one that looks like a stormtrooper.
Each time I see more of this game I get more skeptical. Don't get me wrong, I've got it preordered (paid off, actually), but a Halo 3/Reach killer? I'm not so sure.

To some point i agree with Teancum, because some of them look like Isaac Clarke...
