We have a glamour skins topic for Star Wars Battlefront 2, why not have one for Battlefield 2142.
Here are my first skins for BF2142, they are simple reskins of the PAC troops to make them go better with the desert maps.
You can't see it on the pics i took, but the faces have been tanned.

Information:
This is a simple reskin of the PAC troops to make them go better with Desert Maps.
Can't be used in multiplayer.
This includes:
1p_pac_light_body_c.xcf
pac_light_c.xcf
pac_head2_c.xcf
pac_head1_c.xcf
pac_heavy_head_c.xcf
pac_heavy_c.xcf
So you know what i did.
and:
Soldiers_client.zip
How to Install
To install the skins just place the Soldiers_client.zip in
Battlefield 2142 > mods > bf2142 (or any other mod) > Objects
Credits
If you have any ideas or problems, you can e-mail me or send
me a PM on gametoast. If you want to use these skins in a map
or mod please tell me you are using them and put me in the credits.
Please do not upload these to other sites without my permission.

They can't be used in multiplayer, i think its because the Soldiers_client.zip is a bit bigger than the original.
So, what skins have the rest of you got?

Wow! Nice. How do you reskin BF2142 troopers. Is there a map editor (Like the BF2 Mod Tools) Where you can acess the troops?

It's quiet simple.
After looking around for a bit, i found out that the skins for normal soldiers where in:
Battlefield 2142 > mods > bf2142 > Objects > Soldiers_client.zip > PAC or Us > Textures
If, you just copy the textures to some where, you can then convert them from DDS to TGA, with
this.
Then edit the skins (which are all the ones that end in _c.tga).
When you're done, convert what you edited, put it back in Soldiers_client.zip, then play.
Remember to make a backup of Soldiers_client, and also you can't use new skins in multiplayer, unless the edited skin is the same size (in bites) as the original.
Edit: I'm seriously confused, how do you use skins in multiplayer, because i can't get the new skins the same size as old ones, mainly because after i edit and save the skin, for some reason it is smaller.

is there any sort of compression when you convert back to DDS? like with tga theres that RLE Compression or whatever

Nothing, just selected the files i wanted to convert, then selected the output as TGA, then pressed convert.

hmm... did you use the NVIDIA compression, I think that might be my problem....

Im sorry if i bump this but i thought it would be better than creating a new toppic.
I have followed the instructions given by Dragon93, but my skins dont show up, its still the original ones. I have been trying in single player mode. my heavy trooper skin is about 1000kb. is there a limit as to how big the files can be?

hmmm, have you got xfire or msn? if you do you could send me your edited Soldiers_client.zip and ill have a look.
