Moonlight RGB values

Post by Oceans14 »

I'm having a surprisingly difficult time getting the right light settings for a nighttime/moon-lit map. Experimentation has yielded some pretty shades of blue and a good level of darkness, but I want the map to have a nice "cool white" color and not "bottom of the lagoon". If anybody would be willing to send some color values my way that would be great. Also I read in the documentation that values in the sky file pertain to terrain brightness and I wondered how that differs from light settings in ZE.

My current map project is moon-lit. My directional light has RGB values 40, 47, 51. My Top Ambient Color is 80, 89, 114. Bottom Ambient Color is 0, 0, 0. It is dim moonlight in my map (I'll have a crescent moon only), so you might want to turn the values up a little bit if you're going for a full moon.

That looks very nice, thanks. I upped the bottom ambient a little bit and now feel like I need some wolves in the sound stream... :)
Would anybody happen to know if it's possible to adjust dome model brightness from within the sky file? Now that the map is darker, the endor tree ring I have in there is too bright. I could edit the tga of course, but it seems like there should be some option in the sky file for that sort of thing, since there are other lines for various dome model settings.
