(I'll update link in the asset link topic)

This is an update to my mesh importer, it has the bugs worked out of it. It still puts all the model chunks together in one obj, but it's not too hard to remove them from each other.

In XSI, use polygon islands to separate the shadowvolume.
In MAX, use element select.

It imports cloth as well.

Can it turn obj files into msh, or is that too hard to do? Anyways, good job.

You asked something like this in the request thread as well, and i also replied woner :)

This IMports msh's, meaning you take a .msh and make it .obj

Rep is also working on a MeshEx(porter), but that is probably the most difficult thing concerning 3d models; making a good working converter. So, let's all be patient and give him all the time he needs ;) For now, we just have to do it like we always did with exporting; we've always exported a lot of models, and this program would be just a luxury (a Diet Dr. Pepper sweet luxury but still :P )

I agree that this is a luxury right now. Sorry for my impatience.

What this program does, is converting msh files into obj. This way, we can import it into moddeling programs like XSI and Max.. You could add capes to units now, since this also imports cloth, but you need to know how to add cloth in XSI and also export a model correct.. What you want is:

-Import cloth object and the playermesh you want it to have in xsi with this program
-Use polygon island to select the cape only, and delete the rest + the shadowvolume of the playermesh
-Envelope the cloth to the model with Ace's tut, and export it with Vyse's

This is it, or hex-editing :P

Put it in the same folder as where the model is, start it, and type the name..

Also, type .msh (for example: rep_roron_corobb.msh)

Then press Q+ENTER when it says you to do so ;)

Is there any way to remove the spheres w/o the risk of deleting crucial parts of an oblect?

Go into polygon select mode, select one poly on the sphere and press shift+ (it is called growing) keep pressing until all the polies of the sphere are selected (it should stop once they are all selected and not try to get to other polies on the model) the press delete or alt-delete if a normal delete doesn't get rid of them

this must sound noobish but how do you get it to work?

Run it, then type the full msh name, (including the .msh at the end) hit enter, wait for it to finish, then hit "q" and hit enter again.
The msh must be in the same folder as the program.

Just planning ahead in case you have this question too (also on page 1):

Hopefully this'll break the cycle of deja vu :P
