Race to Witch Mountain
Well, the title really says all. I just saw the new Race to Witch Mountain and thought it was pretty good, really intense too. From a scale of 1-10 I would give it a 7.5. I was also impressed of how fast the government guys got the intel. Pretty rough drive for a taxi driver, if I do say so myself.
What are your thoughts on it??
Btw, Dwayne Johnson rocks!

I've only seen parts of the new one, but from what little I have seen, the old one was much better. Sure, special effects stunk, but that really wasn't what it was about.

Ah, I saw the old one when I was a little kid...I always thought it was a really cool movie...brings back nostalgic memories...

This new version seems to blow everything way out of proportion. They've remade this movie once already, idk why they are doing it a third time. They'll probably do a remake of the sequel too...
I don't know if I'm going to see it. It was much nicer to see the children...as children in the original movie...instead of these teens who give off the vibe of "Dude, We're so cool and out of sight because we are aliens, just check out our magic powers"

Ya, well I've never seen the original so I dunno how to judge it like that.

Watching the original now may make it seem kind of cheesy...it's better to see it as a kid

Re: Race to Witch Mountain
Isn't that your problem, then? Maybe your eight-year old self would like the new version better, but unfortunately you don't have the benefit of rose-tinted glasses to wear this time. I mean - if I watch movies now that I loved as a child, aside from a few select Disney movies, they are pretty atrocious.SBF_Dann_Boeing wrote:Watching the original now may make it seem kind of cheesy...it's better to see it as a kid

Yeah that's my point exactly, if I were younger, I'd probably be more interested in seeing this new version of the movie, just as I had been interested in seeing the original as a kid.

I really liked the movie, it seemed to go smoothly in plot and otherstuff...I've never seen any of the originals.

I liked this movie - Dwayne Johnson (the Rock) is always cool.
