A friend of mine has been trying to install his copy of BF2 for quite a while now. He can install the game and run it, but when he patches the disk check decides not to recognise the disk any more. He's tried installing both the International and US versions of the patch but both cause the disk check to, well, break. All I can think of now is the CD patch, but he said he had a DVD copy...

Try to run the BattlefrontII.exe, not the launcher. It worked for me.

He's tried that.

the v1.1 patch for the DVD version of the game found on starwarsbattlefront.filefront.com didn't work for me either, but the one at the LucasArts site works(DVD version, CD version)

That's not the problem... I always download the patch at lucasarts.com, but I had that problem several times. Maybe reinstalling works.

We tried practically every method there is.

But only one worked. And it is...
