is it possible for me to have a video play on an object that i make? (like a flat wall thingy in XSI)
would i be able to get it ingame and then have it play the video, also would it have sound or no sound if i can do it?
i wanted to make a secret area in my map that you have to teleport to and then have it be a building with a movie theater like room and then add on some stuff from that.
if i can't then i'll probably just attempt something else (like a mini battle field with mini ai and mini tanks and mini cps, hehehe, i would just need a little showcase object)

you can have an
animated texture on an object. if youll read the linked thread youll see that you would need an incredible huge texture if you want something like a movie.

i was reading before about the textures that are animated with the type you posted about in that thread, i was just wondering if there was a way to simply put a video into the game but i guess not, thanks anyway.
(i think that little mini units would be a bit more fun anyway)

no, there is no way to have a video displayed on an object.

Repsharpshooter made a TV with moving images in his Battle Arena map, but
it wasn't really a video.
To do a video you would have to use a lot of pictures moving really fast so its impossible to do.
The mini unit idea looks very cool, its possible to do with new teams(using the normal teams
would destroy the gameplay because it would draw the points of a team when a mini unit dies)
but it will need a lot of work!
Good luck!

i'm planning on making friendly locals and having them in there with uncapturable cps to battle with, i'll have to decide on if i want them to have alot of different weapons or if i want them to have just a few like a bunch of rifles and grenades, maybe i could get some driod units and have the room have barriers at the door so the ai don't leave and then have them run around in there and then you teleport into this area but their guns are weak because they are small, i'll probably make them all to a hundredth scale.

That will never work. The most you want to scale a unit up to is 2.0, the most you want to scale a unit down to is 0.3(and I'm not ever confident it will do that much properly). The problem is the collision, it gets really funky with extreme numbers. You can scale the model and skeleton down to 0.01, but the collision will never work.

He could perhaps use normal units (or ewok units) with his movie theater:
The units would be behind the screen, the spectators would be on the other side of the screen,
which would be transparent, so they will see a "movie" with units fighting.
(And perhaps add a teleporter to go into the "movie")

theres already a teleporter.
i have a question though, would there still be collision errors if i used XSI to scale the units down instead of the line in the msh.option?

The best chance would be to make a custom basepose, which was the desired size. No guarantees though.

i could just make the room a huge white box which will remind me of kotor... if that doesn't work
