In-game lighting/flashlight [partly solved]

Post by swingking »

How would you make the light placed in ZE appear in-game? When I do that there is no light in-game. I acknowledge that you need an odf to have a light in-game, but I'm completely lost. Does the odf have to have the same name as the light? where would the odf go? somebody help please?

I completely forgot about the light settings.... I think this will solve my problem, and I'll check it in the game when I return to my computer... thanks!

[edit] YESSS!!! That solved it! thanks!
But I have 2 other questions... can you attach a (spot)light to a rifle to make a flashlight [i.e. WHILE the player is holding it as a weapon]?
And is it possible to make it so that AI can only see in an area effected by light?

What kind of light are you placing, and if it's not a directional light, how big is your radius?

It's possible that your range is not long enough.

I think the default is 5...?
Anyway, the ring around the far edge of your light in ZE marks where your light falls off. Make sure that your range is set to a value where this ring is behind or below the object the light is pointing at. (e.g.: If your light is pointing straight down at the floor, you should not see the ring because it should be just below the ground.)

what is your lighting setting if it is low only directional and ambient lighting shows up. High and medium will show spot and omni respectively. Check your lighting setting. Also some objects respond weirdly to light. However terrain usually behaves pretty well to different lights. If your terrain is being affected by the light then you know the light is working.
