convert the model wiht repsharpshooters meshtool to obj and import the obj inmto xsi then you have to split the modelparts (they are being merged toghther due the converting) and reapply the texture

ok but the problem is: repsharpshooters meshtool seems to have a bug, that lets the programm crash as soon as i give the order "import"(actually it does this with everything else i do as well).
is there any update or patch for it?

where does the programm normaly store the converted object? And is it perhaps normal that the programm closes after you entered the command?

ok well it still didn't work, so i opened the msh file with the star wars battlefront msh-viewer, and converted it to vrml (or wrl). But i still can't open or import it in XSI Foundation. Why? or was it even right to open the msh file with swbf viewer and convert it to wrl?
help plz

EDIT: @DarthDuck: which version of Rep's meshtool exactly do you mean?

aren't there different versions of this programm for different purposes? And if not , could someone give me a link to download the latest version? thx

EDIT: I mean I'm pretty sure that the version 3 is only for converting obj-files to msh (you need these kind of programms if the 30-days-trial of XXSI foundation is over). But i need to convert msh to obj files in order to import them into XSI.

But are you sure this is also for converting msh files to obj files? I'm not quite sure about that...

It is only for converting .msh files to .obj files (the import command that is). Did you read the topic for it?

What does it say after you input the name of the mesh?

it says : "press q to quit" . and whatever you type in then and press enter ,it just closes and there's no new file anywhere.

I can see two problems that you could be having. One, the mesh file isn't in the same directory as meshtool. The other is that you didn't follow the directions like you said you did:
1. Type in msh filename (ex. box.msh)
You should get a line prompting you for a command before you type import. The q to quit line means you did something wrong and hence there's nothing more the tool can help you with.
