Hex Workshop help (modding sides on shipped levels)

Post by Jango_Fett_A »

wow! it's been a while since i've played battlefront II and a while ago i was playing the kamino level and decided to replace the cis with episode II clones so that the sides would be episode III clones vs. episode II clones. However i want to change them back now but i havn't a clue how to do this. I am using a program called "hex workshop" and i opened up the kam1.lvl file and have no clue what to do from here. I typed in "rep_inf" in the search bar but it came up with nothing. I need some help!

Open up the mission.lvl, search for kam1cw Note: I don't know which one is the campaign mission it's either the first or second search you make, change the cis.lvl to rep.lvl and change rep_inf_ep3_rifleman to rep_inf_ep2_rifleman. I have never tried this before so it might crash. May the force be with you.... BACKUP THE MISSION LVL BEFORE YOU HEX EDIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

ahhhh! Thank you! I was looking in the kam1.lvl file not the mission.lvl file!

Is it possible to switch a single unit such as the cis_inf_rifleman with the all_inf_rifleman or do you have to switch the whole side to rebels or CIS?

WHOAAH! This is off-topic but your avatar is WAYYYYYYYYY too big! 150x200 max.
You would have to edit the part of the LUA that reads the cis.lvl to all.lvl.

is it ok now?

Also i've tried to edit the cis side to replace it with the rebels but it won't work. I'm trying to do this on the tat2.lvl file now. (is that the mos eisley level?) but after i save the file with the edited sides it stays as clones vs droids. I've replaced all the CIS with ALL under the tat2.lvl section under sides for the CIS.

If you want to swap units and sides around, you aways have to edit the mission.lvl. 1st: search for nab2cw (once again I have no idea which is the campaign mission). Then change cis.lvl (in the mission.lvl) to all.lvl then type in place of cis_inf_rifleman to all_inf_rifleman. May the force be with you......
