I'm trying to get into Filefront, to get the screenies up, but it won't let me do so. It's being really slow right now, and they're doing something to the site. I think Phsych0fred created the SPHA-T.

Darken the terrain. It's too bright.

It looks great to me But i reccomend you move the SPHA-T to flatter terrain or adjust it to make it look in the rite place. And whats those weird white things in the last pic?

I must say, that is looking pretty good
Yeah I would darken the terrain. Also, it looks like you used one solid texture. Use several detail textures and pain transparent main textures over it too to get some variation.

That's...wow. Heh. Keep it up, man. I have a feeling this might earn a lasting place in my addon folder.
FOOLIS: The SPHA-T is a heavy artillery piece, so I doubt it. It would more than likely be only for regulars. Still, I suppose a story could be made up for it.
This being said, I do have to point out it is slightly unrealistic to have an entire legion of ARCs operating in such close proximity like this, as it kind of negates the "commando" part, and, frankly, the "recon" part.

(Don't tell me it's a "recon in force".

) Commandos, generally speaking, are meant to handle delicate tactical situations in small numbers, which is a major reason why they're so effective. Maybe I just represent a small fraction of players, but details like that always bug me. I'll leave the rest in your hands.
Definately reposition the SPHA-T, though. Things like that remind me of Trespasser.
Idea regarding the unbalanced fighting..well, more like a question: do you have the proper "unit type" named for each class in the odfs? It's actually kind of important to the AI's behavior. It's possible certain classes may benefit from being a certain type of unit. Each is coded to react a certain way to certain situations. An example off the top of my head is the scout, which will switch weapons to the pistol for short range, and possibly even try to move away to use long range weapons. At least, that's in the dev notes I read a short while ago.

The SPHA-T is for regulars, yeah. And I agree with MercuryNoodles - there weren't even enough ARCs to form a whole legion (only 100) and they technically weren't even activated at the time of the Battle of Geonosis. They could still be elites, though.
Off-topic: Has anyone noticed that the forum censors the word cla$$? (Had to put the $ to show the word) It's weird.

Okay, thanks guys for the tips. Yeah, I'll darken the terrain a bit, and use some more textures. I can also put the SPHA-T down in the more open area. The white things in the last pic is just something that I was messing with to give it the look a battle being carried on, not just started. The story line so far is that these guys come in after the battle is already engaged, and arrive as reinforcements. The legion itself isn't made of ARC's, but they recieved ARC training. I have only three units who are real arcs, and they are the ARC Elite. And, the unit classes aren't quite in order, so maybe that's why we get our butts kicked for us everytime. I wanted to get the units to appear in the roster in order, so I moved them from where they were. That could be it, thanks.
I may not be able to get the file up in time for the contest, unfortunately. We had a computer crash this morning, and so had to restart the entire system. My mom won't let me reinstall the game, though, so it may be a while. But I have a question, everything was backed up, so we didn't lose anything. If I just move the game directory from the back folder, into where it gets installed, will I be able to play the game?
More screenies!!!!
And thanks guys for the complements. This is my first map to even work, and only my third to make to as far a point as I have. So thanks.

No, no, no. I meant in each odf there's a line denoting the the unit type. Snipers are labelled "scout", etc, etc. It determines how the engine handles the AI units ingame. I'm saying with the weapon loadout changes and such, they may not be the right unit type anymore.
The way you ordered the classes should only affect the selection screen, unless you forgot to change the unit counts when you moved them.
