Hey, this will be my first map, so i just wanted to tell everyone about it. I have tried several times before to make a map but have given up. I am finally getting used to the mod tools and hope to complete the Beta 0.1 version of the map today. SCREENSHOTS WILL BE POSTED LATER TODAY!

Basically, the map is a small section of Endor. There are 3 ewok platforms on a group of trees on each side of the map, at least thats how i have it now, might change it to a bunker or something for CIS/IMP for final release. I am also attempting to incorporate Ewoks in the map. As the title says, it is a clearing, there is a huge open area in the middle of the map with 3 of the 5 CPs.

The basic idea is to have most of the fighting taking place in the center of the map like a huge battleground. Speederbikes zooming around, Stormtroopers being picked off by a sniper in the trees, Droids exploding as they are followed around the battlefield by turret fire.

Currently I am not doing any custom sides, i am just using the Jungle rebels and the Episode 2 (yes thats right, EP2) clone troopers. The heroes are as follows: IMP vader ALL Solo REP Aayla Secura CIS Darth Maul The map is more or less a crater (I have to add more hills on the side) because i am not that experienced with hiding the bottom of the sky texture, but there are lots of hills and trees so it looks pretty good. Some of you might find it a bit small, but like i said it is my first map so expect more from me in the future.

The background story:
(Theme music: daa daaa dadada daaaaaaa da)
Clone Wars: This battle is an untold story from the Clone Wars, during the beginning of the war (when the CIS is winning) the Republic is looking for a place to retreat to, they come across the forest moon of Endor and decide to set up a defence system there with the help of the ewoks
Galactic Civil War: Basically the same story as the movie as it is just another part of Endor, Rebels have to get the Death Star shield offline so they infiltrate Endor and are greeted by an army of imperial soldiers. The rebels must win to restore piece to the galaxy and destroy the evil galactic empire... bla bla bla!

REMEMBER: WILL POST SCREENSHOTS TODAY (as i only have 3 days to post them)

Notes: If anyone wants custom sides/heroes, leave suggestions
If anyone has suggestions for the map layout please leave a suggestion
If anyone can explain (or direct me to a thread that explains) how to add boundaries or make a mini map, please do!

Sounds really great :thumbs: , can't wait to see the screens.You should have Luke Skywalker (default model) with a black cape as a hero.

actually, i wanted to do that but in the movie Luke wears more of a poncho sorta thing

whos cape would you recommend

I would reccomend hexing on the anakin cloak and cape, since thats the closest you can get. Or maybe dooku's wide cape.

id suggest you to leave han solo as a hero since luke was somewhere else during the battle :roll:
because of the same reason you could replace vader with overpowered imp officer or something else

also luke left to talk to Vader, lol so it doesnt make sense to haver vader as hero but not luke ur right

Looks really good. The most importent thing is:
Change the Default Sky! That sky does not look Endory. Other than that good!

yep, i wont forget 2 change the sky,
Here is what i have done:
Built basic map (Empire just has a platform on a hill, must make it on trees like Rebels)
Added vehicles for one CP - just a test (originally Combat Speeders for Rebels but i will change to Hoverbikes)
Added 4 CPs, need one more
Created boundaries for the map

Heres what i need to do
Stop AI from running into objects (tried placing borders, but they still run into them CAN ANY1 HELP WITH THIS?)
Add ATSTs for Empire
Add final CP
Add locals (Ewoks - will do that with last CP)
Change sky
Find out how to add endor sounds HELP WITH THIS TOO!
Make Minimap
Fix Empire platform
Make some command posts unowned at start of game HELP WITH THIS AS WELL... SORRY
Incorporate hint nodes CAN SUM1 EXPLAIN THIS TO ME
Find out how to make AI climb ramps to platforms
Fix one or two trees that are "floating"

As you can see, all the major stuff is done, in fact the mod could be released right now and played, but i am still fine tuning it a bit, right now the map is GCW only (not CW as i mentioned earlier, am still deciding if Hero Assault will be released in a later version)

Estimates Release Date: Sometime this week, depending how much homework i get, i would really like to be finished by next weekend

1. Most of the stuff you mentioned needs Planning. Planning tut HERE
2. First, select the CP you want to change. Go over to the left side of ZE, and you'll see something like Team: and then a box underneath. This'll have a 1 or 2 (if it's a CP) which determines the team. 1 is ATTacking, and 2 is DEFending. (You can look in your .lua near the top to see who's the ATT team and DEF team) If you want a CP neutral, change the number to 0.
3. HintNodes are basically manuevers that are more advanced than Planning. They tell the AI special things to do. For example, if you want an AI to Snipe in a certain spot, you place a Snipe node.

And it looks really good. Once you get vehicles and stuff in, it'll be great.

i also suggest you to add more trees and grass so it has more of the endor atmosphere
and perhaps an atat prop near the imp plattform and an imperial landing craft on the plattform (if you played first strike youll know what i mean, if not i could post screenshots)

Wow, good job since it's your first maps ;) Good luck on the further progress, and indeed, make it Endorish, but not too much, since the assets Endor sucked :P

I like the ground texture and great work since it is your first map! You could probably find all you need here: FAQ
