Dreadnot9 wrote:Following with another critique on the map, it looked pretty sparse in the areas where battle takes place, with little-to-no cover. I may have simply overlooked it though, but if not there I can see it being an issue. On the positive side, I really liked the overall ambiance of the map, overcast, downpour, lush forest, makes me think of washington a little.

I actually liked the music and slow-motion footage a lot (they worked well together), but I didn't really notice anything that stood out as "new" other than the map.

If it made you think of Washington a little, Dreadnot, then Marth did a good job. It's based off of Pioneer Trails, a park a few thousand feet or so from his house in Washington.

As for cover, there isn't a large amount as it tries to stay faithful to the real location as much as possible. I haven't played the map myself in a long time, so I can't tell you how well the current version plays. Last time I played it however, the lack of cover wasn't as much of an issue as you'd think.

I've played it (and tested) many times before and I can say that cover is not an issue at all. In fact, there is a surprisingly large amount of cover.

Seems as though cover won't be a concern, which is good. I'm certainly glad I got the location semi-correct, haha. I'm glad new content is being added regardless, any update is a good update.
Any new game play features?

Hard to say what would be considered a "feature."

Most of what we've been doing is weapon and gameplay refinement. As well as fx optimization/changes and new weapon models for the weapons already ingame. Several weapons in Unification didn't or don't have their correct model. I fixed one of those, working on another.

Also bug fixes, lots of those.

Very excited about those new weapon models, saw them posted earlier in the thread.
Bug fixes are vital, and as long as it fixes the melee icon for the husks/abominations I'll be a happy camper. Good to see love being put into the mod, keep up the good work.

I'm... pretty sure we fixed that. It was likely one of the first fixes we did after the release of r1. I can check, eventually.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~`
As with the M-4 Shuriken, the M-5 Phalanx desperately needed its model. So here it is. It took much longer to make than I anticipated, I started right after the M-4 Shuriken was finished. Without a wireframe of the original BioWare model, figuring out its shape was a challenge. At the end though, I got one of the best models and textures I ever made. So yeah, good stuff.
1800 tri. I put more detail into it than I usually do as part of some experiments in quality and stuffs. All the polygons contribute to its shape though, I went over it with a fine tooth comb twice.
While I appreciate the compliment, I'm not that good.
Hey, what ever happened to the Locust? Did you finish that up Wulf? If you haven't yet, I'm done with school now so I could probably finish it up tomorrow.
I've touched the Locust texture. Keep forgetting about it.
This is what happens when trying to post while very tired and distracted. I tried to say "I haven't touched the texture" but failed.
You can continue working on it, yes.
Curse my slow internet, I'm frozen on a screen of the gunship in softimage, but on the bright side, the gunship looks great. I like these little live steams, any future audio (maybe there was this time, couldn't really tell...)?
Looks like you're running Vista as well, my condolences.
Ah, yeah, I'm actually watching Moon right now with WULF, so I have sharing paused; not sure if I'm going to continue the stream afterwards.
EDIT:
I'm actually on Windows 7. ;)
Hmm, looked like Vista at a glance, seems I'm wrong.
Speaking of Moon (I'm assuming you mean the 2009 movie), is it any good? I've never seen it, heard it was pretty good though.
Off-topic: Yeah, Moon is a fantastic film, definitely worth watching. :)
EDIT:
Yeah, not gonna continue the live stream. Probably gonna play The Walking Dead or FFVII or Garry's Mod or something for the rest of the night.
