Intro screen problem

Post by LK-452 »

I just installed SWBF1, and I then downloaded patches v 1.2 and 1.3, i ment to download 1.1 1.2 then 1.3 but accidently installed 1.2 first, then 1.3. 1.1 said it was already updated when i tried it after i installed 1.2. Im not sure if this related to my probolem, witch is whenever I launch the game, the intro screen (a flythrough, where it shows stuff in wireframe and shows planets ect) it just keeps going through that over and over, it says back on the lower left part of the screen, but when i click on it nothing happens. Can anyone help me on this?

LK-452, have you attempted to un-install completely your Star Wars Battlefront Copy from your Hard-Drive, before re-installing this LucasArts video-game and the Updates released by Pandemic Studios you wish to "expand" for it ?

In that case, have you checked whether the folders created by the InstallShield Installer associated to Star Wars Battlefront II had been completely deleted after this LucasArts video-game's un-installation ? (For sample, just browse your Hard-Drive till the "Program Files\LucasArts" directory, and be sure the sub-folder labelled "Star Wars Battlefront II" no longer exists, before re-installing the concerned product...)

I should have guessed that solving your current problem would not be that easy, and that's why I would wish you to provide me details about your PC's Specifications (And especially regarding your Graphics Processing Unit, also known as being your Graphics Card), and tell me whether you have installed any Update or Modification intended to Star Wars Battlefront after this LucasArts video-game's re-installation...

Thanks in advance !...

Before I do all that, I think I just might have the solution-I have 2 sets of star wars battlefront 1 disks, one version worked, until it didn't agree with my old computer's (new one now) disk drive, so i bought a second version. Now when i reinstalled it on this computer, I might have switched some disks around, causing the problem.

Any way to discern a disk from one box, from the same disk from another box?

I am not sure to understand properly what you've just said, LK-452...
Are you asking me whether one or more Compact Disk(s) coming from the first Star Wars Battlefront "Set" could be exploited with the other one(s) belonging to the second Declension of this LucasArts video-game ?

Hmm, I basicly mean I could have mixed up SWBF1 disks from different boxes

That's possible, LK-452, but in that precise case, I do not know many ways to determine at which Star Wars Battlefront "Set" a particular CD belongs to, and I guess you will have to proceed to numerous attempts before succeeding in installing this LucasArts video-game properly...
