hey guys,im having a problem in my mapthat im working on...basicly when i edit and ODF or change a skin then munge it doesnt show in game, its like i never touched the ODF's or like the side files were in the wrong place iv spent hours trying to figure out why but turned up empty
Im having the same prob 'cept getting weapons to show in game. IM sure if u solve his problem mine will be solved also. Its like killing 2 gungans w/ 1 grenade so to speek.
Make a new project, make a new side, add one unit you want to mod (with all it's assets, of course) and change one thing at a time. Make notes on what I've changed as I go. Munge and Test each and every stage. Eventually something breaks and you've got a complete documentation on how you did it. Then you know exactly what needs fixing. If you fix it, keep going with the rest of the mod in the same way. If you get a problem you can't fix, post here and you have enough with detail of what you've done for us to have an idea of what may be wrong.
i dont know if i want to start over really, could i creat a new datamod folder but then save it as what iv done so far(save in zeroeditor) also creating new sides?
the idea is that you make the new project to test out if a particular mod works. The project only contains the default stuff, - which you know works - and one of your mods. When you get that working, with the method I gave, you can then add that to any map because you have written yourself a complete how-to while you were figuring it out. BFB Pro makes it so easy to make a new project and add in a custom side that you'll save a ton of time in the long run.
And like I said, if you can't figure out the problem, you have documentation so you can give enough information for someone else to recreate the problem and see what's wrong.
ok this has happened to me on a few occasions .......to test that you have the same problem go into ze and move an object and clean, munge ....play the map ....if its not been moved you need to reistall bfbuilder then copy over all your map files into the new bfbuilder (or pro)
well i did what Saturn said, and i came up with a problem the 1st time i tedted it...all i did was create a new datamod folder from BFBuilder-pro then create sides, edit ODF's to see if it would work then slap down some terrain munge, and it locked up before it got to the spawn screen...
no, BFbuilderPro works fine. I have made, hmmm, over a hundred custom sides with it. BFBP made it so easy to do, I make a new side for every single modded unit I've made since BFBP was released.
Did you create .req files for your side (these are not created by default) ? What does SPTest / BFront.log tell you ?
ok, there's no mission.lvl, this is a major problem. You need to go back a step, make a new project and add nothing to it. Just munge the default project and see if that runs.
