AI visibilty (what is it?)

I've been browsing arround psychofreds forum and I found this interesting doc about AI visiblity but it wasn't clear about what it was refering to. Does that mean at what distance highrez models are rendered or does it mean at what distance the AI notice each other/the player.

That covers the AI's ability to detect other units, like how likely they are to see you within foliage. It's certainly not unclear about what it's for.

ohh ok thanks, I was just confused because he was talking about foilage and I thought maybe the game didn't render highrez for models hidden in foilage, idk, thanks for clarifing
