All the custom maps with lighting works.

Easy solution: turn settings down
Or make sure your drivers are updated, make sure no large or unnecessary processes are running in the background.
That's all I got.

I don't want to turn my settings down , i'll try to play it without any programs running in the background. But , guys if you know a solution without turning the settings down , tell me

.

IMHO Battlefront looked a lot better than Battlefront 2, and was far less laggy on highest settings.
Actually, at highest shadows, lighting, bumpmapping, bloom, view and LOD distance, etcetera, it still runs faster than SWBF2 on lowest settings for me. No idea why.

Well , it does lag a lot on Tatooine outpost or BF0 maps , and a bit on the others.

What about the stock Utapau and Mos Eisley?

It lags a bit too , is it because of the graphic card or the processor ?

Likely the engine, the Zero engine isn't the greatest with shadows. I find that how well a map runs seems to depend on the maker's optimization. I've played maps that were amazing and I could run on high settings and maps that were pretty empty and I got low FPS on minimal settings. An older game won't be able to take advantage of the new features built into modern graphics cards so upgrading probably won't help as much as it should.

wow, I couldn't disagree more, but to each his own.

Usually, it lags the most on maps that have ALOT of shadows. For example Rhen Var: Citadel w/ the light at a low angle w/ shadows on. Maps like Utapau, don't have many shadows so it doesn't lag as much.

No, the problem is the bump mapping. Utapau has an extremely low performance on my PC, Rhen Var runs perfect (I have the HD 5850). I think the problem are the ATI drivers...

Probably not, but you could try this:

The more people complain about this problem, the better.

Ok i compared with Spiderpig's processor (it doesn't lags for him with the highest configuration):
Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Quad CPU Q9400 @ 2.66GHz (4 CPUs), ~2.7GHz
And mine :
Pentium(R) Dual-Core CPU E5300 @ 2.60GHz (2 CPUs), ~2.6GHz
So i think , it is the processor , and so i guess i can't fix that without buying a new computer ?

Despite the patch released long ago to optimize for dual cores the game still isn't optimized for them at all. I can run circles around a lot of multi-core machines with my 3.4ghz P4.

Well, the processor is embeded into the motherboard. So you would have to get a new motherboard as well. Which....$$$$$

I dont have.

It's
not the CPU, it's the graphics card.

I finally fixed it

. I uninstalled the ATI softwares (catalyst etc...) and turned anti alisaging and vsync off . Now i can enjoy swbf2 with high quality on all maps without lagging

.
