Well I said I was gonna do it and after getting some positive responses about it here it is, haven't recorded them all yet so I'll just edit the first post and the rest as I go.

Part 1 - Basic setup

Part 2 - Fast and easy lowrez creation, collision primitive creation and explanation

Video may be down temporarily, after uploading it added it's own pan and zooms judging by where the mouse is which was far from perfect. I think I figured out how to get rid of it, seems to be castasia's fault, at least the program can render the video and upload to youtube simultaneously from within the program.

Oh yeah, if anyone can offer some more ideas on good tags for the video so it can be found by those who are googleing swbf2 tutorials lmk.

When you get around to uploading the video to YouTube again we'll embed it in your post so folks can watch it locally.

Yeah that would be good since I can't for the life of me seem to make it work on these forums. It's up again, seems to load slower but that may be because videos seem to do that when they are freshly uploaded.

I think only mods and/or admins can embed videos.

Well the embedded option seems kinda pointless since you can't seem to full screen the video, at least I can't. It also prevents me from editing the first post and adding others...

Are you saying the Edit feature of the post is disabled by the flash tags?
Just add whatever you need to and we'll embed them sometime afterwards. We only have essential embedding here, basically you can just watch the video on-site, which is enough for most. If you want to watch it full screen or whatever then go to YouTube, this is why I left the original link in the post.

I can go into the edit mode but not save changes with the video there. How about you can just add the embedded feature after I'm done uploading? Would have had 1 more done today covering quick lowrez creation and collisions but GF interrupted me so it's paused right now with the scene file saved where it was so at some point around 25 mins in you'll see the time change to like sometime the next day.

I watched it entirely this time, it's a pretty good video, and i like the simple wireframes colors tip, and the informations about centers of geometries.
Also: 30 frames = 1 second in swbf2
So you'll need 150 frames for making the anim takes like 5 seconds, and 300 frames for 10 seconds etc...
Also here's an apropriate animation of the slave 1 Made by AceMastermind:

Good luck for your next vid.

Next vid coming sometime tonight. Man, I thought that the other Slave 1 was never released? I wouldn't have even bothered making this if I knew there was already one out there. =p

I don't think the whole rotation thing is necesarry before takeoff, even if you land in a hanger facing in you can still use the mouse yaw to rotate the ship as the animations are playing.

Ah ok, but i don't know if it is released though, if i remember correctly, it's a converted model (i might be wrong). And i prefer yours. Sure, the whole rotation isn't necessary, but it is better and polished IMO.

Part 2 is up, a little longer than the first but covered the quick lowrez creation and collision primitives. Next I think I'll make shadowvolumes it's own video since it takes a little more time to make a good shadowvolume that confines to the docs. The final will be final preparations, export and testing.

Cool part, i have finished watching it, it would be nice if you had a part covering custom fx mesh creation for your engines like in that tutorial, in the final vids:

Thanks for these. I'm just getting into Battlefront modding and they've been super helpful already.

I tried making custom effects for my sith fighter and it turned out terrible, it just doesn't look as good as the stock effects. If it were me for the falcon I'd use an exhaust with no trail and just make like 10 of them around the curve overlapping one another. Did that for JA and it worked great.

I also can't make a tutorial on something I don't really know how to do, the effect I tried to make didn't work right and I don't fully understand the effects editor, I usually just find a good base effect and edit it. The custom effects I do have other people on this board made them for me, like the N1 ring effect and the Lambda pill shaped effect which I'll use on this but I changed the color to a yellow/orange.
