I love the new sky, my only complaint is that the light doesn't seem to match the sky for me. I really think you have done a phenomenal job so far.

A Chinese-looking health bar? :P

The sky brings to mind more of a dusk setting than afternoon, in which case the dim lighting fits rather well, imo.

Hello guys,

very small update on the Dusk sky (I agree, it's more of a Dusk sky). Made the place more foggier, and slightly brighter. I made it brighter because I struggled a bit when it came to spotting enemies through the fog.

Small gameplay video, unfortunately, this video has no Audio. Me being the fool I am forgot to record with Audio. :cpu: Please excuse my poor aiming, it's sometimes hard to shoot without a reticule while the thought of getting blown to bits, shot in the head and or burned to death.

There will be a trailer of this coming out soon, with lots of gun sounds and explosions. :D

Let me know what you think of the video and the sky changes.

I'm not sure about other people's environments, but I usually see mist right before dawn rather than at dusk. It doesn't seem to fit the dusk setting, anyway - the pale, silvery terrain at distance clashes oddly with the pale orange sky. The vastly more subdued fog in the first pic several posts up seemed a tad better; one might almost mistake the minimal fog there as smoke from an explosive or something.

Hmm, that's an idea - what about random terrain explosions like the ones on stock Geonosis? Might add a bit to the frantic I'm-at-war kind of feel.

I agree with Fiodis, here in Virginia I usually see mist in the early morning when I'm going to school rather than in the evening. The mist just doesn't fit with the Dusk setting, other than that though it's great!

EDIT: I love Fiodis explosion idea, but make it bigger than the Geonosis explosions, there just wasn't enough of it in geonosis.

You could turn the dusk (I accidentally typed "duck" at first  ) variation into a dawn variation, that'd be really neat. There'd be a pretty birdsong sound stream, or maybe even a low-profile cricket choir. :)

I'll let you guys be the judge of the new sky texture. Tell me what you think.

About the 'random terrain explosions' - I like that idea, I'll get that in game soon. Thanks again.

Hello everyone,

Thanks for the comments.

I'm happy to announce that I've managed to create the random artillery. I should also mention the artillery rounds can harm you. The artillery rounds fire in 13 salvos and cease fire for a while so you have a chance to run for more cover. It spreads throughout most of the field so, sometimes, it can be unlikely to take a hit that's close to you.

The effect is not final though, since there's a sharp line across the terrain and makes it look flat which was spotted by Fiodis. Thanks Fiodis.
