Hey, I wouldn't go as far to say I'm back, I'm far from excited to be visiting this forum, when all I have really seen is "Last post 2009" etc.

Its quite scary to see a forum go so quiet, but thats what happens when you solely focus on a game that is 8 years old.

As I'm a lot older now I have a lot less time on my hands and that is probably a key reason I am no longer on this forum, or modding PC games in general, however even if I did have time to mod, I doubt I would want to become active on here again as its pretty dead and SWBF2 is equally as dead.

I have nothing but respect for the admins, moderators and veterans on this site, and I can only hope that something kick-starts this community back up, but its becoming increasingly doubtful...

Yeah that was kind of a pessimistic post, first off, Battlefront is not dead. Just look in the WIP section. There are a lot of new maps/mods coming out by people who only joined a few months ago, and there are a lot of new modders. Of course this forum isn't as active as it was when you were here, but it's far from quiet. The "last post 2009" you see are from the archives. There is no reason to post there any more.

When I was modding this game I was 15 / 16 years old, now I am 21. I simply do not have the time to be an active member on this forum any more. Doesn't mean I had left or "quit" the forum, I still pop by from time to time, maybe I don't post but I like to check up on a few things.

Okay yeah maybe the 2009 thing was overkill, however when I was around on these forums it was active to the level where you would post in a section (eg. swbf2 modding) and the next day you go to see your reply and it is on page 2 or page 3. Therefore to see it lower in activity by the amount it has, has made me feel sad.

Feel free to PM me, if you would like to speak to me more about this, as for now I have taken this thread way too off-topic for the liking of the admins.

Hello Gametoast!

Im new here and I'm a newbie to the modding community so I don't have much experience with all that stuff however I would like to get into it as a pastime and for fun,

My favourite mod at the moment is Mass Effect Unification I cant believe how good that mod is seriously it was the top mod on Moddb for a while so thats how I found it Ive been checking the Moddb page for Battlefront ever since just waiting patiently for a update I cant wait for it,

I also browse this site looking around and getting to know the place and seeing what awesome stuff you guys come up with next, so im looking forward to getting into modding Star Wars Battlefront with you guys! I hope this shows up this time lol

Welcome! It doesn't really matter that you're new to the modding community, SWBF2 is the only game I've ever modded, and its pretty easy, once you get over the basics

Hey there GameTostians! It's been awhile! How've things been?

I'm sort-a back, just going to be popping in here and there and giving my two-cents on topics that interest me. I will say though that I have been lurking around the forums and watching the progress you all are making on certain projects!

To the team working on the Mass Effect mod: You all are doing a fantastic job! Keep it up!

Being part of the current two man team working on the Mass Effect mod, I wholeheartedly thank you for the compliment on behalf of both of us.

Well this is it. I need to move on, graduation is in two days and I need to move on with my life. I'll be entering the game development field in college, hopefully I'll be able to produce my dream game via Kickstarter or use my own money to fund it.

Not to say I won't be checking up on everything once in a while but I really can't afford to spend the time I used to on forums and mod creation. I would love to release USM but it is...unfinished and I don't think anyone would enjoy an unfinished and bug riddled mod. I will however release the skin assets on these forums.

You know, some of us here have already or are currently pursuing higher education in a variety of fields of study, including but limited to game development, and we still found/find time to mod. Not sure why you have decided to move on after having done so little modding, but good luck with your decisions anyway, Glitch.
