Small question: create a plane from an edge [Solved]

I am making an arrow and I want the feathers to be a single plane each. I have set up the model with edges where I want to make the plane from, but there doesn't seem to be a tool to make a plane from them.

Bonus points to whoever can help me make each feather perpendicular to the shaft and uniform in length.

What are you modeling in? Blender? XSI?

One way to do it would be to create a bunch of grid primitives and use those instead, but the slightly more expensive way to do it would be to select you edges and press Ctrl+D to extrude them, and then X to switch to the Scale tool and scale them outwards from the center of the selection, which would (should) also cause them to be perpendicular to the shaft and uniform in length.

I will try those methods. 2/3 feathers are not parallel with xz so I am not sure it will scale correctly.

Scaling them didn't work. They just stayed in the same place. Translating works, but i can only do one direction at a time.

EDIT 2:

I figured it out. I selected each edge I wanted, then right clicked and chose extrude along axis. not a plane, but works like a charm.

EDIT 3: I set the skirting ratio to 0 and it is now a plane. I get blue (unconnected) edges, does that matter?
