Problems w/ Polymesh merging

Post by yoyam »

OK so i am trying to merge some polymeshes so i can export them as a single model and every time i try to merge them together i get some meshs merged and some not. Ive had this problem before trying to merge mshs and materials but thats def not the case here.

A buncha mshs i wanna merge:

All that actually gets merged:

stuff left behind:

Any thoughts on why some mshs merge fine and some just dont?

first, what version of XSI are you using? i think some of the versions have a diff tool i.e. mod tools, foundations, essentials and advanced. i know in advanced a dialog box pops up and you can choose weather to merge matirials and envelopes and all that as well as turn down the tolerance. you should also open up the explorer and look under the mesh and see if theres a modifier for the merge polymeshes and double clicking it should open and options box.

well i figured it out thanx to milo, apparently the problem was trying to merge to many objects at once. Idk why it chose this time to not merge when i regularly merge > 20 objects at once w/out any problems but anyways merging them in smaller batches worked like a charm. Problem solved :)
