XSI Export Problems

I'm using the trial version of XSI 4.2 and I've downloaded the pandemic tools and put them in, but now I can't export without highlighting: Export Selected Objects Only. If I don't highlight that, then it crashes and a little window comes up saying:
Code: Select all
Succesfully saved sequence before system failure.
Restart the application to recover the sequence.
So I highlight that and export the model but ingame it is missing a piece that I definitely highlighted in the model, and I can't see why... !
My Question is, what might be causing this unusual error:
Code: Select all
Succesfully saved sequence before system failure.
Restart the application to recover the sequence.
And, why isn't one piece of my model coming up ingame?
: The model in XSI.
: The model ingame.
Help would be really appreciated!

I suggest just using MshEx.(its just a prop after all)
And try converting to .obj and re-importing, sometimes that helps
And freezing ur objects is a necessity for props

Select your object and press
Freeze M, this simply bakes your changes to the geometry by collapsing the modeling construction history:
If you are working with XSI on a monitor with a resolution lower than the recommended 1280x1024 then you will need to collapse some of the Panels on the MCP by right clicking on any panel header, to expand or restore them simply right click on them again.
http://softimage.wiki.softimage.com/xsi ... m#Rca29906
Select your object and
Freeze All Transforms to reset the SRT values of the object(also moves object center to 0,0,0):
Freezing the object's transforms should be done prior to buiding your hierarchy.
http://softimage.wiki.softimage.com/xsi ... m#Rax13184
Freezing the transforms and the construction history(
Freeze M -freeze modeling or
Freeze* -freeze all) is standard procedure for
all geometry except collision primitives in preparation for the msh format, read the animation_guide.doc for more information.
*Freeze should not be performed on an object with an envelope operator or else it will be removed, however Freeze M is ok.

No need to, he's using the best method which is much quicker, more forgiving and less work.
And try converting to .obj and re-importing, sometimes that helps
To this day I still don't see why some people think this is necessary, if you have to do this then you must not be following prep procedure to begin with.

Ok thanks for all help, I'm trying this now, will post back in a few minutes.
It didn't work

I was just wondering, what checkboxes should I tick on the exporter?

When I export models I just have "Export Selected Models Only" and "Ignore Warnings" checked.

I guess that is how I will carry my exports out too
Oh, and I fixed the problem earlier by deleting the cylinder that kept dissapearing and replacing it. Oddly enough, it worked, dunno why, but it worked

That is how you
have to do it, though you only need
Export Selected Models Only ticked, read the art_guide.doc for more information.
