1. Would it be possible to make an object that acts like a barrier and the ai know to avoid it??? it would definitely fix all my barrier issues if i could do it
2.Is it possible to make it so that the ai can only join planning at a certain hub or connection insteading of just joining in wherever.
eg. i have 2 levels to my map and the planning for the second level is being used on ground level and it is causing trouble with the ai as they are always running into props.....

1. Just put barriers around the object...simple as that(use multiple barriers if it has an irregular shape)lucasfart wrote:1. Would it be possible to make an object that acts like a barrier and the ai know to avoid it??? it would definitely fix all my barrier issues if i could do it

2. Not sure, my only advice is that in order to get the hub to a different height, you need to scale up the ground and place the hub on it, then just return the ground back to normal(cus the hubs are placed based on terrain height)
The catch is that once you return the terrain to normal the hub will freeze and you can't edit it. So you better make sure u are done with it before normalizing the terrain again.

1. Lessen the height on the barriers?lucasfart wrote: 1. That won't work for this map. i know you can do that and its a bit hard to explain why, but that won't work with my map. it is based on bespin with platforms going over an open space. If i place barriers, the ai cant get across the open space.

2. Probably, like I said, I don't got much advice on that.

Re: 2 Questions about Barriers and Planning
Barriers and planning have indefinite height. You can modify how tall they look in ZeroEditor, but you can't actually change how tall the barriers and planning are themselves. Thus, a multi-level map like the one you seem to be working on is technically impossible with the AI in this game.

Well, about not being able to do multiple levels, here's my theory (you do need to work very precise)
Use teleports
If you are in (for example) a skyscraper, you can make very subtle teleports in the staircases. When transported, you'd be transported to a identical building, only it would actually be somewhere else, so that you can simulate multiple levels.
Downsides:
-You wouldn't be allowed to look outside (too much), since your trick would show of then.
-You'd have to be very very very precise in recreating your level multiple times (or you could just copy over a group of objects)
-You'd need to disable the minimap, since, you know, your trick would show of then.
-probably something else I didn't think of right now.

Re: 2 Questions about Barriers and Planning
disable the minimap? why not label the minimap? floor 32, floor 33, floor 44 above the part of the map? kinda like how a map for a mall iwth 2 floors has 2 maps, one for each floor, but the maps dont sit right on top of each other.
