Hey, I am having a problem with trying to load a skin from battlefront using GIMP, when I try to load the Tantive 4 trooper skin I just get these this grey square pattern. How do I remove?

You go to tools then color tools then levels and a window will pop up. In the window click on the drop down menu (at the top) and click alpha. then on the second bar below (in the window) click on the little black arrow and drag it so it meets the white arrow. press ok and they will disappear.

Or you use Layer-> TRransparency -> Threshold Alpha

You might need to change the alpha back a little after you changed it, cos some skins end up really shiny in-game if you don't, which looks a bit weird

But only on the unit choice screen.

Thanks for your help, I have another question. I want to recolor the pants on the skin, How do I do it and any others places on the TGA.

Select it and use a colortool.
Perhaps read a gimp tut for basic stuff like this, I'm sure there's one on their site You'll be able to make better skins if you know what you're doing

which tutorial would be the best and how do I get there?
