Taking off differently in a flyer

Does anyone know if it is possible to change the take off characteristics of a flyer so that instead of initially moving in an upwards motion, it could move down or horizontally? For example: having a tie fighter drop from its holder in a hangar bay.

Try editing the takeoff hiegth to something negetive like... -10 or something.... the bigger concern is how to suspend the fighter while it's not in use, cause it will fall due to gravity if no propped up, and if propped up then it will collide with it's prop as it tries to drop...

I have no idea, but that would be a pretty good idea if it were possible. Fred could probably answer that though.

yes oom-9s idea might work, but for horizontal put it to 0, that way it will just fly forward

Would it be possible to edit the takeoff sequence to make it go forward over an opening, and then make it drop down?

How will Battlefront II affect all these mods/maps?
The pics and what i've read leaves me assuming that mods/maps should carry over...

Hey Guster,
I don't know personally, but Psych0fred has been asked this question (will BF1 custom maps be compatible with BF2), and if I remember correctly his response was something to the effect of "probably not."

So basically fred, the negative value should work?

Using a test TIE, so far I get:
TakeOffHeight = 0.0 results in the TIE still lifting up slightly before moving off
TakeOffHeight = negative number first gave a "flyer fell through terrain" error (when I tried it in the hangar) and on subsequent attempts (with the TIE placed on the normal terrain) the screen went black, though the HUD remained
edit: the black screen remained after respawning
Anyone else ?

you get TakeOffHeight, Acceleration and Min/Mid/Max Speed (and StrafeSpeed for the gunship)...
