What makes engineers drop supplies?

What is it that makes the engineers in the stock game drop supplies for you? Will ANY unit drop some for you if they have the powerup dispenser equipped?

I believe this has to do with the unittype = pilot line in the pilot/engineer odf.

The health and ammo dispenser is a weapon, anyone who has the weapon can toss them out to other characters.

Yes that's how it works, every unit with the 'pilot' unittype will give ammo and repair vehicles

It's been a very long time since I've done it, but I believe both answers are right. It's technically a weapon, so any class can use it, however unittype = pilot (if I remember right) is what makes the AI seek others to give health/ammo to. I don't think any other unittype will actively look to give out ammo, they treat it just as a weapon.

Could be wrong -- like I said it's been a long time.
