Recc. Mods for Elder Scrolls 3 Morrowind?

Post by RogueKnight »

Just bought the game yesterday, and I'm looking for some reccomended mods, I searched around on a few websites, but I'm not sure what is good and what isn't, does anyone have any suggestions?

Why not just play it vanilla first? If you jump right in to having a mod, I think you lose out on:
a) The noticeability of any given mod, and
b) The game as the devs intended.
I don't know if there are any bugfixes to download (I just got and played through the game recently, and I didn't look for an unofficial bugfix patch - I probably should have because I ended up with a lot of crashes), but that might be the only kind of mod I'd start playing a new game with.

I like the Morrowind - Star Wars mod. It isn't a drastic change, as it just adds some armor, lightsabers, and jedi/sith NPCs, but it is still enjoyable. It can be found at THIS location.

Here are some then.

Tamriel Rebuilt maps.
http://planetelderscrolls.gamespy.com/V ... il&id=5133
http://planetelderscrolls.gamespy.com/V ... il&id=7040
Adds large new landmasses to the game. Might require MSE Morrowind Script Extender.

Darknut's texture improvements.

http://planetelderscrolls.gamespy.com/V ... il&id=6143
http://planetelderscrolls.gamespy.com/V ... il&id=5882
http://planetelderscrolls.gamespy.com/V ... il&id=5985
http://planetelderscrolls.gamespy.com/V ... 15&id=5998
Significantly improves the texture quality of creatures, armor, and weapons.

New potion and scroll Icons
http://planetelderscrolls.gamespy.com/V ... ail&id=184
Makes it alot easier to sort through the scrolls and potions in your inventory.

Grass mod
http://planetelderscrolls.gamespy.com/V ... il&id=7762
Adds grass to regions all over morrowind. Can cause quite a frame rate hit, depending on your machine, but you can always just disable the .esp's to remove the grass.

Vality's Bitter Coast, Ice cavern, and Ascadian Isles improvement mods.

http://planetelderscrolls.gamespy.com/V ... 14&id=5897

If you have a strong computer, you might want to try MGE (Morrowind Graphics Extender)

And If you want a nice Bloom mod, I could send you what I have via .zip.
It's the ENB Series mod, with the best possible settings that I've found.
