you know you can create an odf with zeroedit that makes fully assembled cruisers, you just gotta have one to make it off of.

??!! So it just comes "assembled"?! what do you mean you have to make one off of another one though?

He means you can go into ze and place the objects all you want. But you have to have the models to do that. You made an ISD with mshs already ingame. Mini is making a new model altogether.

Im still confused. I know Mini's making the Victory and it comes "assembled" if that's what you want to tell me

no im talking about theres a script in ZE that makes an .odf file that calls all the .msh files you use so it loads them all together, so if you multiselect a ISD you can make a odf and reload a fully built one.

but only if i have a base model.. right?

you dont need one >_<
just select all the parts of the ISD in zeroedit, in a newly compiled space map it builds a ISD for you as well as a mon cal ship for the rebels and places a frigate for each side.

but a space map, once you build it, automatically comes with 2 cap ships and 2 frigates... is that what you are talking about? If not, could you give me tut on how to do what you are telling me? cause this seems really cool. :P
Using OBG files to place entire capital ships

You really should read through all of the info in the "Everything you need" thread.
You can get the ".obg" files from there to make a complete preassembled ship as long as you have all of the odf's, msh, and textures that go with it:
Spaceships_1.0_Final.zip
Download and unzip the file, then put the ".obg" file for whatever ship you want(that was included in the download) in your world1 folder then open ZeroEditor, load your world, go into "Object" edit mode, click "Multi select" and then click on and use the "load group" function to open the ".obg" file in your world1 folder, then place it as you would normal objects.

WOW!!! Thx guys! but this won't help me build big interiors though... right?

no, learn how to model to make a good interior, hack and slash edits of the games assets look aweful, so many people made a big deal when xwingguy made a large interior but it was so crooked and busted looking cause nothing matched up right.

Yes, I understand, i really want to model (in XSI?) but I have no idea where to start.

As harsh as that might sounds, Mini's totally right.

How? And Mini, doesn't sound harsh, I would really like to start modelling, but.... you know. @AceMastermind: What do you mean? Do you have to download that?

Elmo, I'd say you're FAR from ready to model.
If you don't even know what you can use a Cube to, I'd suggest quitting the idea. EVERY REAL modeller will take you serious if you start with a Cube. Boxmodelling FTW!
What AceMasterMind told you was how you created a Cube in XSI.

Ok, I know I am new to modeling, but it's worth a shot.

So what happened to Fred's Republic ship with a real hangar?
