Honestly, as much as I want a Battlefront III or a real KotOR III, I highly doubt it will be either of the two. I'm guessing either another new Clone Wars game or some new game/ franchise.

It'll probably be another The Clone Wars game. And considering how many new The Clone Wars theme LEGO sets that have been/are being released it might just end up being a LEGO The Clone Wars game, or not.

Hahhaha. If it's a LEGO Clone Wars I will laugh so hard and be mad at the same time.

If it's a clone wars like Pandemic did I'd be content. Obviously preferring SWBFIII.

I still don't get why people are all excited if it's Kotor III. I'm like 110% sure it's not going to happen because SWTOR. I even remember one of the devs on it said SWTOR is Kotor 3 and 4, and 5, 6 ,7,8, and 9. I just don't see it happening.

Well, Pandemic fell apart, so we don't have to worry about a bad sequel to BFII, unless Rebellion picks it up.

But we'll probably just have something to the extent of: STAR WARS: FUTURE WARFARE

I don't see how having ex-Pandemic do Battlefront III makes it a "bad sequel", frankly, I very much enjoy the vanilla gameplay of II, and think Pandemic did a fantastic job on it.

As long as they would have followed suite to the past two games and released modtools that is.

I doubt we're going to see some lame Clone Wars game. Remember, they're pitching this to us for the first time at the VGA's, along with Halo: Reach, the TRON video game, and two other mystery games. Whatever they reveal will be something they consider to be epic.

Oh, they made a good game, but Battlefront I compared to Battlefront II, the quality decreased, imho. It would be a shame for a new Battlefront to follow suit.

Wouldn't that be why it would be ex-pandemic? Because it would be former members of pandemic (not saying I think it's likely that it would be, but I think that's what he meant).

I'd be most impressed by RCII, a new KotOR (unlikely), or a Jedi Knight/KotOR style game set during the time which the movies or more closely after it than Jedi Knight was.

(Granted I'd love it to be BFIII, but in all likelihood that's not going to happen).

If it is BFIII, then I need to find a fitting video on You Tube that will portray all your reactions in the most absurd and comical way.

I can give you one if it turns out not to be BFIII or RC2...

I agree. BF to BFII wasn't a jump forward. More like a side step. Like Melee to Brawl.

I'd say more like a rotation, some parts forward (Flight/Jedi/detpack/campaign/Galactic Conquest, new maps) some parts back (bugs/'nade diversity/lost maps)

I think the big bummer about swbf2 was the hopeless outdatedness of the game (even for the year it was released) even though it was technically new. In the gaming world, if you aren't keeping pace with the times, it doesn't matter if your sequel was better than the predecessor.

well i think swbf1 and 2 are still awsome due to mod tools as not many games have it. And i think pandemic knew that modders would make the game awsome in its own right...look at what everyone has achived. new effects, new maps, furthered the story of star wars. So i generally think its a good game.

I'm sorry to keep this off topic, but should the consumer be the one who needs to perfect something?

Not that I'm saying SWBF2 hasn't been made much better by modding, but to me, it seems that a company should release something well, or not release it. When you buy a (new) car, you don't expect to have to replace the body before you take it home.

We should give this topic a poll on what kind of game will be announced. Anyway, like me and Teancum said, there is a very low chance of this game to be pretty crappy. I can't actually imagine LA showing off a game like the Clone Wars: Republic Heroes or something like that at the VGA when other developers and Publishers are showing off fantastic games. It'll severely damage their reputation if they do.

Really it could be anything at this point. But I have a feeling it's BF3. For some reason I don't think it'll be any of the rest...and I HOPE it's NOT another Clone Wars game...

Still, I'd like to get a Republic Commando 2, JK4, Rouge Squadron, etc. at some point. Even a Lightsaber Duel game with motion +, if done correctly.
