How do I modify the character selection screen?

Can unit character selection screen be changed? If any of you played console version of swbf2, it has much neater looking unit selection than PC version. I found this script ifs_charselect.lua (which is req.uired in ingame.req also) is there any source of console script (be it ps2,xbox or psp) ? and does anyone here have enough skill to convert it for use on PC?
