Modeling Help

I once again turn to gametoast to answer my mod-based questions...

Anyway. I would love to make my own models and not have to borrow assests from other people. I was looking in the "All You Need To Know Forum 2.0" and came across a tutorial for making models with using the program "Blender". However, I haven't been able to convert the .msh files to something that Blender could read and vice versa with the SWBF Mod Tools viewer. :runaway: Does anyone know how to change files like that with SWBF Mod Tools viewer? I have a feeling that I'm missing something REALLY obvious right now (it happens to me alot). So sorry if the question has an obvious answer and I'm too noobish to figure it out myself. Thanks/sorry in advance.

there is no easy way, so no you are not missing an obvious thing.

-First this should probably be moved to the modeling/animation section of the forums. but that is irrelevant.

I have never seen anyone really editing the stock props, but rather creating their own. To do this(create you own) make the model, and export it into .obj format, and if it is really good then somebody might convert it for you that has the full version of XSI. That is the short answer. You could also use MshEx, but that is a whole different story.

Wrong.

RepSharpShooters Meshtool 3 can convert the .msh to .obj, if there isn't a link in the everything you need thread, try the the one stickied in the modeling thread, and if all else fails use the search function.

This is another way. It allows one to keep the different chunks as separate objects, thus making it easier to modify. If you want to get it into Blender, just choose a file format that Blender can import when you are exporting from Vivaty.
