Recording Gameplay
I was wondering what people use to record their gameplay? The main program I seem to see people use for recording video games is FRAPS, but that would just ruin the FPS of the game, and record nothing but a bunch of lag. ANother alternative would be X-Fire recording, but I think that would be just as bad with reference to FPS. Not to mention, from what I gather, it doesn't record directly to your computer (Or does it?). Also using FRAPS, I have to use a FRAPS converter to be able to edit the footage with my movie editing program. It doesn't like that type of .avi. So, any other recomendations or comments?

Re: Recording Gameplay
You could try uStream Producer. A free download that allows you to screencapture whatever you're doing on your computer, broadcast it, and record it for later viewing. Of course, it will also record the out of game stuff, too, so if you minimize the game, people will be able to see your desktop in the video, but you can always edit it. I'd just stick with xfire, though. If you set up your recording stuff right, the FPS only reduces a little while you're playing, but it's still recording every frame, so the final product looks as smooth as if you weren't recording at all. You just have to play with a slightly slower, almost unnoticeable drop in framerate.

xfire records both screenshots and movies directly your computer, but it also gives you the option to upload them imediatelly after recording, which might lead people to think what you said above. they should be stored in the cifre-programfolderIronJaw wrote:from what I gather, it doesn't record directly to your computer (Or does it?). Thanks to both! I'll check into the X-fire first, then if that don't work, then the UStream.

Re: Recording Gameplay
I use X-Fire for all my vids and it works a dream.
BTW, Just a correction on where you find the vids and screenshots you take in X-Fire, they should be located at C:/Program Data/Xfire/vids

I don't know if it will work on SWBF2, I am assuming it will, but I have briefly used HyperCam for some RS type of stuff, and it works pretty well. Its free, but I think there is a more advanced version that is available for purchase.

Re: Recording Gameplay
When I did my very first Game recording, I used 'GunCam', and that was pretty good in terms of my use. Just another option
