A map based loosely on the great tatooine WIP map that was in progress like forever ago but got canceled b/c the creator got banned, if you dont know what im talking about dont worry, all you gotta know is that its on tatooine.
This map will be entered into the GT mappack competition. Its not 50% but this is going into the competition so i dont think that should be a prob, if it is mods can feel free to lock.
Modeler: Yoyam
Texturer: Jabba
Mapper: SlayerJ
We are trying to break out of the flat city rut that seems all too prevalent in Bf2 maps. The map that this map is loosely based off seemed poised to do just that. (if anyone can remember the name of the map i am talking about please dont hesitate to share

).
The map is going to be a split level city with lots of ledges, enterable buildings, choke points and death zones, basically its all about tactics. Also we plan on making it easier to die, not a one shot one kill sorta thing but ur definitely gonna think twice before charging around a corner.
and yes you love the name now love the screenies.
canopy.

the sniper tower.

basic planning map for one of the death zones.
More pics coming soon.

Wow! City maps are seldom seen around here due to the object limits. And you're right about the 'flat city' trend too.
Nice new objects! Good city maps were common in Bf1...I can think of some real classics. Good luck with the nodes and bot routting >_<'

yes, I have to agree that city maps are quite a treat (especially if they aren't flat). The planning looks really good, especially since it has been rendered on
LINED PAPER!!! (college ruled

) And yes, this maps score would go up soo much if the name was Suck It!

Just a little something to whet your appetites, a little model i BSed in about an hour today.

heh the impressive poly count is due to the fact that i havent transferred my nurbs to mesh, itll go down after i do that, for now tho im not entirely happy w/ it so im leaving it open to change.
Ive been pumping out models like crazy lately and im collecting quite a nice little collection for this city

more pics to come prob before the end of the week.

Are those tent thingy's going to have cloth physics?
---
Nice models btw. They really look like they're ripped out of SW Galaxies, but again, I can see they're not. Can I use some ?

I already talked to him about it: unfortunately (not for him though!) they will not be animated. Unless someone wants to take the initiative......

For them to have cloth physics every player model would have to be redone. The player models that have cloth already have invisible cloth collision only on that part of their body so the cloth doesn't go through.

Though it doesn't stop it from going through the ankles.
